Cartoonish Take on Frederick Douglass misses the mark

I appreciate the detailed reviews and synopses that have been posted here, that I can consult after watching each episode, about three years behind the times!
I am enjoying the quirky treatment of history in this lively and unusual production but I gave this particular episode a lower rating since I didn't at all care for the grotesque depiction of Frederick Douglass as a pompous dandy who lusts after several women including one that is still a child.
And I thought "Hamilton" actor Daveed Diggs who plays Douglass was just hammy,in a way that co producer Ethan Hawke who plays John Brown also in a flamboyant way is arguably not.
