Grissom's two women
mspeed444 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Lady Heather (we know from past episodes) is found wounded in an old western tourist-town and refuses to name her attacker. Sara finally gets to meet Lady H in the hospital. Even tho lots of viewer comments have been made that Sara is "upset" about Grissom/Lady Heather relationship, I see her as being very curious. Catherine has yacked on and on about the chemistry between Gil Grissom and Heather and it makes Sara uncomfortable, but not angry. The scene in the hospital shows Sara as being very kind and polite then Grissom walks in and he's the one who has the "Oh, S**t" look on his face. He gets to work on the case, even spending the night at Heather's house where he is found by Brass and Catherine. There is a curious twist to the outcome and we get to see Joe Penny as a bad guy. Grissom helps Heather see her granddaughter and all ends well. (Off-camera--Except he still has to go home to Sara! And maybe this is the last we will ever see of Lady Heather as she gets to play with her granddaughter.)

She's Back

Lady Heather makes another appearance. This time she has nearly been killed, a rope around her neck. She is, for some reason, in a touristy old west town when this happens. Another part of the episode involves a 25 year old woman pickpocket who is the victim of a hit and run. The former forces Grissom to head back to Heather, even though he and Sara now have a relationship. When dealing with Lady Heather, everything is close to the vest. She just doesn't talk.

This Time, Lady Heather Is The (Somewhat) Victim
ccthemovieman-131 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Why "Lady Heather" (Melinda Clarke) always is portrayed in a sympathetic light despite being a killer and a sex pervert, is a testimony to Hollywood and its mindset. Anyway, after an absence of a year and only one part over three years of CSI, she's back, this time the victim more than a "perp." I can't feel totally sympathetic, however, to a woman who willingly has a noose put around her neck! Even though "Gil" (William Petersen) has the hots for fellow CSI worker "Sara Sidle" (Jorja Fox), he still has a very soft heart for Heather. Sara has to deal with that, although Gil is just friends with the dominatrix now.

Clarke, who looks prettier now than when she was younger in this series, is almost strangled to death by a rope in this family-friendly western town, run by a scummy guy and his son as some sort of Old West-amusement area.

Unfortunately, it doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to figure out who is behind the attempted murder of "Heather" and the death of the night security guard. That's because the only two guys seen in the town were the father and son! So, duh, obviously one of them is responsible for the violence in this made-up-for-fun town.

There is a happy ending with "Heather," though, and - who knows - she might even be a normal grandma type!

In a second crime story, a woman is killed, apparently hit in the head by the bumper of a cab, but there are no lower body bruises nor tire tracks on her. In other words, she wasn't standing and she wasn't lying on the ground. What happened turns out to be a strange event. I like how "Nick Stokes" (George Eads) handles this case and the speech he gives to a cab driver near the end.

In all, this is a decent episode, nothing super but okay. It leads us to - what I hope - is a great season finale, dealing with the "Miniature Killer."

Catherine was very funny in this episode
interestingstuff9 March 2022
I loved how she kept going on and on about how Grissom admired Lady Heather deeply and how she was able to hold his attention like no one else and how they probably spent the night together while Sara was super uncomfortable during this whole conversation.

Apart from that, the episode is just waste of time. They solve both cases without using any actual CSI methods you see in most episodes. Sure they take finger prints and DNA but that's not what solves either case. Both cases are solved by interrogating suspects alone so this is just another filler episode.

Who Shot the Sheriff?
claudio_carvalho23 February 2023
When a man wearing cowboy clothes late night at the Oakley's Old West Town tries to strangle Lady Heather and she does not react, the night watchman Vernon Porter finds her wounded and fainted. The CSI investigators investigate the case, but Lady Heather does not collaborate and refuses to tell who tried to kill her. When Grissom is informed of the case, he heads to the hospital to talk to her. When Vernon is found dead with a gunshot to his back, Lady Heather becomes the prime suspect, but she has a strong alibi. Meanwhile, Nick and Warrick are called by Det. Sofie to investigate the crime scene of a dead woman on the street. When Warrick opens her purse, he finds several wallets and driver licenses and he concludes she is a pickpocket and her name is Faith Maroney. They believe a taxi driver hit-and-run her.

"The Good, the Bad and the Dominatrix" is a reasonable episode of "CSI", with another return of Lady Heather. Catherine discloses her affair with Grissom in the past to Sara. Impressive the sacrifice that Lady Heather was submitted to guarantee the future of her granddaughter. The conclusion is excellent. The other case is just a filler. My vote is seven.
