Popeye Vs. 'Dr. Quack'
ccthemovieman-12 July 2007
Popeye, with the help of Olive, heads up "Popeye's Medicine Show." where he promotes "spiniach health juice." He also is a one-man band, providing entertainment to the crowd.

Meanwhile, nearby is the office of "Dr. Quack, Medicine for Anything." Of course, he's Brutus, who hears Popeye outside is an not happy the sailor man "is stealing my clientèle. Hmm, I'll have to do something to prove him a fake. I'm not going to lose my thriving business to a phony."

Brutus mixes up all the hot-sauce items he can find, and then sabotages Popeye's show in front of people by switching bottles and having the sailor man drink his hot stuff. When Popeye breathes fire and empties a nearby swimming pool to douse the flames, Brutus laughs and thinks his mission accomplished.

However, it takes more than that, and poor Popeye keeps getting the "doctor's" medicine, all designed to kill him.....and steal of his girl Olive, of course.

It almost happens but luck is on Popeye's side. Just how, you'll have to watch. It's part of the DVD called "Popeye's 75th Anniversary Celebration Collector's Edition. However, I don't recommend this set to adults. The humor is way too juvenile, but little kids would love this three-disc collection.

What could be more hilarious than . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . Pharmaceuticals Gone Wild? Now that politicians are able to Second Guess the approval process for decades-old drugs that have saved thousands of lives, in order to cow-tow to the sects cultists and witch doctors of Italy's Mafia Mob in Vaccination City, is Popeye's Patent Medicine more or less modern than the Medieval Madness prevailing in the America of 2023? Grunts fighting in the trenches of the War to Preserve Common Sense will marvel at the ease with which a Sailor of Old can defeat the mercenary selfishness of Dr. Quack. Nowadays, when oafish backwards ignorant know-nothings insist upon Rabble Rule, Truth, Humanity and Reason have been reduced to dying embers.
