Minor but enertaining modern Western
lor_26 March 2019
Those big budgets of old are gone with the wind, so Adam & Eve delivered a cheapie Western here, despite its misleading 2-DVD package marketing ploy. It stars Tommy Gunn as the bad guy, he being the lead of A & E/Digital Playground's huge-budget blockbuster a decade before, "Pirates", and was helmed by Nick Orleans of same period's "Tailgunners" fame.

Anikka Albrite stars and is the best thing in the picture. She's inherited the Broke Twig Ranch from her uncle, but visiting it she discovers it's merely a brothel, run by lovely Belle Noire, with all the prostitutes clad in fancy Old West saloon girl outfits. Orleans is a master (and enthusiast) of lingerie-fetish porn, and this Western adheres to that philosophy.

The acting is fine, with Alec Knight as an ornery sheriff, Marcus London as his good-guy deputy, and cameraman James Avalon providing amusing comic relief as the local drunken judge.

Shooting title listed on the clapper boards is "Whip It Out", and use of the whip is part of the overall fetish strategy, though BDSM per se is not involved in the sex scenes. XXX highlight is Avalon's use of underwater camerawork to capture a strong lesbian interlude between Anikka and prostitute Maddy O'Reilly in a swimming pool.

Orleans dispenses with action scenes in this would-be Oater, cognizant of the current conventional wisdom that porn audiences only want sex, sex and more sex, a theory I personally believe might be disproved if filmmakers were willing to take the big risk of mounting super-productions like the "PIrates" movies once again. (Adam & Eve had success in large-scale Westerns with the "Rawhide" movies, but that was before internet streaming took over in the marketplace.)
