My favorite of the franchise!
ncoriordan2 May 2022
The first series is a bit slow the first few episodes in particular, but stick with it as the second series really takes off. With the arrival of Daisy the yacht becomes much more professionally run, Glenn's original perceived goofiness gives way to a seasoned captain and the charters actually run the best out of any of the various versions of the show while even more shenanigans below deck, but despite the turbulent personal dramas we don't get any of the nastiness towards crew members from their superiors or the cliques that form that taint the US and Mediterranean versions! Maybe the lower ratings stems from watching charters with for the most part nice guests and well run! The best part of the show though is when they sail, a nightmare for the interior crew but fantastic to watch, plus due to the size of the yacht we don't have to endure obnoxious guests buzzing around on jet ski's.

Marcos is a magician in the galley
andrewdean_nc12 June 2022
Marcos has the best attitude no matter the circumstance, and his culinary skills are just incredible. Unlike most other yachtie chefs from the Below Deck series, Marcos is always professionial and positive, its refreshing. You deserve big things sir, keep it up.

Not as good as the original series
clementsydnor25 March 2020
But it can be entertaining... I doubt you'd see Captain Lee loading suitcases or wiping down the table though!

Used to like the show
ltakacs-961984 May 2021
Perhaps in an attempt to improve ratings, the show has gone off the rails with drama, over sexualization, and just plain ridiculous behaviour. No more, I've given this too many tries this season. Not worth continuing. Pity, used to be a show I looked forward to.

Daisy, Colin and Gary make thus show!
colboz197530 April 2022
The 1st season was OK, the 2nd series was brilliant and the 3rd series is turning out to brilliant too. The dynamic between Daisy, Colin and Gary is fantastic, please don't break it... They work so well together and the comedy aspect is hilarious.

I absolute love this show!

The best of all below decks
rsmith-816645 July 2020
So good! The best of all the below deck series. The original below deck is so awful I can't even get through it. I enjoy Mediterranean, however, it's still not as good as this one. I think the smaller ship/cast just makes it better. And just better casting overall. Hope it has a 2nd season!

REALLY ENJOED SEASON 3
classicmomentsvp21 June 2022
Season 3 was very enjoyable. Mostly because the crew was amazing. The chef never complained and produced gourmet meals.

Watching Ashley mature right before our eyes was such a joy.

The whole crew chemistry and how they worked together in a positive way instead of negative drama was also a pleasant surprise

Would love to see the same cast again next season.

... getting what's to be expected
bjarias23 June 2021
... interesting that the majority of the 15 written reviews pan the show... yet of the 400-plus review ratings to date the greater majority rated it 7 or above

... producers are looking for interesting-compelling (one-way-or-another) characters... just regular crews going on about their daily-routine-business w/o drama-sex wouldn't make for high viewership numbers... all these guys fit the bill, filling their roles... imagine there's enough of them out there to choose from... and yes, many are real a-holes... like several we've just been watching (real or farce)

... 07.18.23 - S2 just another-messy-debacle... only a "reality"-yacht-production would be hiring-onboard certain of these individuals ... no-one in full-management-positions would be putting up with most any of these-completely-childish nonsensical-goings-on (crew-OR-guests)... 'reunion' E19 & 20 evidence exactly what this franchise is doing-all-about.

This is the reason why co-worker's should never be romantically involved with other co-worker's because they love each other one minute then hate each other the next.

People saying this is a bad season are wacko
henrygaskins30 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is by far the best season of all the seasons. The overdone drama wasn't bad. They worked and knew what they were doing. The captain was the best easily and somebody on here saying he was on happy pills was presumptuous and if he was, so WHAT. I'd take those happy pills anyday. Life is WAY to hard. So great for him. The cast was also and I'm talking about the females were unbelievably GORGEOUS, fun and very enjoyable to look at. The scenery was tremendous and the sail boat gave it an incredible twist. Plus not having captain Sandy or to a certain degree Lee made it more watchable. Although the worst part was the chief stew she was still better than Hannah or Kate. The chef made incredible food and satisfied the guests and the boat itself was totally way better than other ships on any other season IMO. Georgia Sierra and Madison were so hot compared to other seasons. That alone makes sailing yacht terrific.

That was hell
chturf27 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Jenna is the absolute worst chief stew or supervisor of a labor force for that matter, that I have ever witnessed. Her unwillingness to help green staff learn the ropes and ensure her department looks professional and competent is completely lost on this woman. She acts like a petulant high schooler with a grudge to anyone she feels isn't as smart as her. When in fact she is incompetent as they come. She sunk this ship while she tried to drop Adam's anchor all season. What they saw in each other is beyond me but they are perfect for each other. I hope that van doesn't break down because I don't want them coming back. Go make avocado toast in the woods and be gone. Unprofessional and I'd never let that crew represent my assets.

Good series overall
killerkat-191922 October 2022
Season 1 review - so good to know that Adam and Jenna split up right after and no longer together. They were the worst to overlook, both unprofessional bullies. I can tolerate Adam to some point, but that stupid woman made him so unlikable. Adam, you are a great chef, that girl did not deserve any of your praise or attention,I'm so happy you split up!! Keep do you!

The rest of the series are quite entertaining, S2 &3 with Gary are hilarious. He is such an immature player girls fall for, but entertaining to watch the usual boat drama. Cap is great, but looks the wrong direction always and fire great people instead of the problem causing ones.

Beautiful and entertaining
riheg-4504716 February 2023
It's great, but it is slightly annoying to see such a vast contrast between all the quality and effort that we see and then the lazy trashy music, as if it is a floating ghetto or trailer park. Almost unbearable however the show is so great that it is worth the struggle. This is all about the cast and the guests and are fascinating to watch. I love that the guests are so vastly different and presents such an array of challenges and rewards for the crew. Such an interesting blend of personalities. The production values are high, and I highly recommend this for anyone who likes reality TV. If you can stand the "music," you won't be sorry.

Captain glen is a total dick
jqkjdvtys19 April 2022
He doesn't care about the crew. He is all about the sailing and not about the consequences. He does not have a good head to captain a boat. He could just put up the main sail and not put it on keel.

Best if the franchise
rohinilad6 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Cptn Glen is hilarious, he is so likeable and down to earth yet managed to maintain the 'captain' position with the boat. I like Daisy and Colin and am gutted about Colin not returning next season . Gary is a hard character to like but also does make the show great. I love the fact we get to see some actual sailing, it's so excited and makes a difference from watching rich people sitting on a yacht drinking and playing with the water toys. The chefs have been amazing on this boat and produce some amazing food which id love to sample :D. The first season was a little slow but the following seasons have been great.

The best of the franchise!
hajermiller-9119514 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just binged all four seasons and throughly loved them! Seasons 2-4 were the best. I was so happy that Colin, Daisy and Gary were regulars. You get the drama of usual relationships, work and guests but also the extra thrill of sailing near misses and disasters. As much as Gary might have his flaws he is so charismatic and entertaining to watch. When he had covid the boat wa definitely flat without him. I hope there is a season 5 and the core crew come back for more antics. I definitely laughed out loud with them but also cringed so hard. Great entertaining reality tv with gorgeous back drops and hard work!

Liked it!!
ts-mccrone10 April 2024
Saw the series for the first time a couple of weeks ago. While it's interesting to see how the crew interact with one another, the most interesting thing for me is how the mostly privileged American guests - with some exceptions - act like gluttonous , uncultured heathens while onboard. Quite special.

That said, I do find a difficult to separate what is open "engineered" and what is "real life". Obviously somebody's paying somebody to act like something. It may well be that the guests are 'filtered' to be the best entertainment value. It's hard to believe that the way they act / treat each other / treat the crew could be considered normal anywhere in the world.

I love Below Deck but this one not so much. Jenna and Adam are very tacky and very unprofessional. They use the Master Cabin and expect Madison to clean up after them. The way she treats Madison is awful. Jenna is definitely not Kate! For the first time I actually turned it off last night. Hopefully it will get better. I would love to see Kate on this boat. She would put Jenna in her place fast. Captain Glenn needs to get a handle on this terrible crew.

Don't bother
catgreen-4229416 March 2020
Boring. Disappointing. The cast is not interesting at all compared to the original Below Deck. In fact the cast got on my nerves, Paget and Ciara in particular. The original Below Deck is much more entertaining than the Sailing Yacht edition.

Could have been great
SamUnfiltered197926 March 2020
But they hired a crew more shallow than the water they dock in. A captain who is lost on so many levels. Surprised he has a boating license. Paget and Clara. Ugh. Have as much likeability as a crap flavored lollipop. Paget thinks he is GOD. Ciara is dumber than the anchor. Together they make each episode more unwatchable. Poor Parker has more intelligence and know how than both combined. But they try to make him look stupid in front of the Captain to keep their positions. If the captain knew how inept these two were, they'd be gone. Ditch Paget and Ciara and the show coukd be ok.

Troubled Waters
lennybuttz26 February 2020
This could be the season that sinks The Below Deck Franchise. We have a milquetoast captain that seems to be on happy pills, A horny chief stew who can't even think of work because she's always in the galley trading disgusting sexual barbs with the "chef". Yes, Adam Glick is back for the 3rd time. This guy is a good cook when he wants to be but he is one of the most unprofessional cooks they've had on the serious. In his 1st season he added onions to all his dishes because the main charter guests didn't like onions. Why in the world would anyone in their right mind hire this goofball back to do 2 more seasons?

If I were spending $260, 000 for a 3 day stay on a sailboat in Greece, 1. I'd like to sail and 2. I want local Greek food cooked by a real Greek person not some Greek pasta salad thrown together by some crazy American who can't think past the end of his dick.

Tthe chief stew can't be bothered to check on the guests or do anything else outside the galley because she's got the hots for the cute "chef" she has no patience or understanding for the stews who are actually doing all the work while she yells at them.

On deck we have the Bickersons, a lovely couple that's been engaged for years and they bicker like they just celebrated their golden anniversary. If you're married or live with married parents you know how wonderful it is to listen to constant bickering and nit picking. Joy Joy I suggest several cocktails or 2 Aspirin 20 minutes before viewing.

There is a married engineer who is a total perv, doesn't seem to work much but is always hanging around the edge of the action throwing in his pervy comments. Yeah, he looks like an old perv as well. Then there's the deck hand who looks to be in his late 20s and apparently still breast feeds, oh my! We have 2 stews, one works, one complains and cried, nothing new about that. ho hum.

All in all the 1 word that sums up this show is, BORING! I was watching the 1st episode and thought it was a 2 hour special because time was dragging on so slowly but no it was just an hour of agony.

I love all the other seasons of Below Deck in all of it's other locations but this season on a sailboat that doesn't hardly ever sail is a total waste of time. Bravo should pull the plug on the show before it completely ruins the whole franchise.

If you still want to watch this show let me suggest recording it so you can scan through the boring parts, you'll finish in 15 minutes easily.

Disappointing....
joshuadove826 May 2020
Parker was great only if the Captain took a minute to work with him instead of listening to Paget's compalints. Captain Glenn also disappointed in his handling of Jenna and Adam's UNPROFESSIONAL display of affection every minute of each sailing, topping it off with their nightly rendezvous in the master cabin while the 2nd and 3rd stew had to tidy up the cabin after the fun night. Captain should have reprimanded both Jenna and Adam by telling them "to stop" the continous episodes of affection in the public areas. There were instances where the captain was sitting in the galley and the two idiots were all over each other. After his chat with Jenna the affection with adam did not stop. Madison certainly came on green but by the end of the season she matured and took her job seriously. She is lovely. Why did Jenna blame her for ratting out on her to the captain? shows Jenna's display of dislike for Madison. Get rid of jenna and adam please!! Although Adam is a good cook his reputation with women ruins his reputation as a chef. He apparently got involved with another crew member on a previous episode., that too did not end well Jenna needs to be demoted if any, then she will understand how she treats people. Paget is not a god; Ciara should grow some balls and dump him. Georgia is immature to blatantly try get between a couple's relationship. She should have been mature enough to stop teasing Paget who was unkind in his words to her in the final episode. Bryon - uggh Chris is a wonderful guy. This show will not make it for another season if they keep all of these people together.

Going Downhill
dredmart27 April 2022
The show was never as good as the Below Deck franchise. My wife and I watch as we love to sail and have chartered 2 boats in the Caribbean and one in Greece over the years - (not as luxurious as those in the show). This show has gone steadily downhill!! The April 25th 2022 episode was awful / horrendous. With 2 days between charters, the crew spent their time getting drunk and acting like five year spoiled brats - no make it four year olds! They could have just moved onto the next charter and skip the drinking. Minor point, but when Captain Glenn puts up the sails he could notify the crew first so things in the kitchen and bar area are locked up safely. Maybe they think this makes good TV but to me it is just stupid to have happen each week.

Major Predator Vibes
warrenandysmith-0235415 March 2024
This show is by far the worst of the BD franchise. Mainly because of how the deck crew preys on the interior. Especially Gary. This would never be tolerated in any other work setting under the Bravo network org so I'm not sure why it's not being addressed here. Sure the other BDs push the line between what's appropriate on/off work behavior but the relationships are more balanced. Whenever new female crew join the team, Gary is clearly has only one thing on his mind. He's just not safe to have onboard and should be off the show. Capt Glenn is also the weakest of the captains and tolerates just about everything.
