There seems to already be a couple of plotlines that are being set up to be focused on in a subsequent season. The show hasn't been renewed for a third season, yet. I hope it will.
Anyway, the plotlines in question are, a) Alyssa taking leadership over Praxis because Salvador is dead (which remains to be seen) or will end up succumbing to her injuries, and because she has become swayed back to the other side because of what Vera did to Salvador.
(Boy, she sure is easy to manipulate, isn't she? You don't even need to specifically manipulate her for her to flip-flop back and forth, either.)
b) Gabrielle becoming a Knight/werewolf, and I'm assuming it was Midnight who chose her. I don't remember which locker is which. And I don't remember what the one Randall was referring to when he mentioned Midnight looked like to compare with the one that opened up when Gabrielle was in the den.
Of course, both of them could be "finished," so to speak, in the finale, but I doubt it. If anything, Alyssa becoming the leader of Praxis will probably happen but the season will end there, figuratively or literally. And Gabrielle's plotline may not be brought up at all in the finale (or her, for that matter) and simply reserved to be focused on in the next season.
Anyway, Praxis' ideology regarding magic is flawed. Sure, it may not be so bad for everyone to use magic but what about the consequences, the Tartarus eruptions, that will keep happening until a big and strong enough one happens, all because everyone doesn't have the proper training to use magic and are doing it improperly? Then what? The only way that can be solved is if the Order inducts everyone, which will never happen. That would be ridiculous, and the obvious, impossible. Praxis has to be taken down, plain and simple.
But maybe Vera will adopt that ideology a bit, (I mean, you could say that she already is or is trying to, in a sense), at least to the extent of coming to a compromise that's good enough for all the Praxis members that may not be taken out or will continue to grow to be reeled in. But I guess the Fors Factoram incantation could be used to stop the eruptions, regardless of whether you use magic improperly. Except, that's if it exists and does what Salvador thinks it does. Furthermore, it may not exist or do what she thinks it does and Vera was merely playing along to Salvador's tune.
I'm looking forward to watching the finale to see how this occurring plotline will end along with the season itself. I guess I'm expecting there to be some sort of cliffhanger like with the first season and if so, I wonder what it will be. But I probably won't care if there isn't one.
