This movie reveals a page of the everyday life in the Docheiariou monastery, from the Holy Mount Athos.
For the modern man it may seem impossible to understand why would someone choose to dedicate his/hers life to God, and to work incessantly, either outside (and the work is hard, physical) and inside (in his heart and in the church, praising God), but if you close your eyes and take a deep breath, and be at peace with you for a moment, sometimes you may want Peace more than anything, and go in search of it.
And if you truly want Peace, you might feel that you must leave behind everything, to find it and keep it. And with Peace comes also Love and Patience and Humility. And for these no effort is too big, and nothing else matters.
These men live in the Light of God, and it is He that gives them everything, so they feel at home and fulfilled.
May we all be blessed with a bit of their Peace of mind and heart, and may we all find true Love, above anything. This movie is not a movie, it is about real people, and real life for some very chosen few, who have chosen to Live.
