Every episode of the the series has led to this fantastic addition to the generational saga of the Birdsey Family. Director Derek Cianfrance has shaped a companion piece to the second installment of The Godfather as we follow Dominick's Grandfather spearhead what we've heard is the "American Dream". In the previous episode we are unexpectedly revealed that the memoir handed down from Dominick's mother was finally translated. We are warned that we may not want to know the contents of the writings, and this proves to be painfully true. Not only is there some closure to the past of Dominick's mother and grandfather, there are new wounds open in its wake. Is the family cursed? Is history doomed to repeat itself? I am waiting with great anticipation of the finale episode. Once again we are given a masterclass performance from Mark Ruffalo as the inseparable twins and first rate filmmaking from Derek Cianfrance. This episode in particular brings most themes full circle and sets the stage for the conclusion. Bravo.

Warning: Spoilers
If You are an animal lover and anguished by scenes of animal abuse don't watch the opening scenes of the twins grandfather's journal. Horrible person and just awful protrayal of animal abuse. It's interesting that the Drinkwater twins grandfather is also portrayed it'll be interesting on how that ends up playing out in the story. Mark is such an amazing actor.
