Sun, sea, sangria, and...er, what's the other one?

Warning: Spoilers
In addition to his many talents, Ralph Tanner is a bit of a ladies man. Or so he would like others to believe. At the start of this episode, he makes a crude attempt to chat-up holiday rep 'Sue' ( Jill Kerman ). She is not interested. Joining Brian in the bar, he spots a couple of attractive girls. He tells Brian to take his time. While they take their time, two local men charm them away. Sue arrives, having argued with boyfriend 'Paul' ( Robin Lefevre ). Brian and she get talking, and he successfully invites her to dinner. He and Ralph make an arrangement - whoever gets lucky with the opposite sex first must hang a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door. Ralph returns later, with the sexy 'Lesley' ( Sally-Jane Spencer ) in tow. A cheeky kid has put the aforementioned sign on the door even though no-one is in the room...

More comic fun from Spain with those two losers, Ralph and Brian. No location filming was done, much was the case with I.T.V.'s later 'Duty Free', but this does not unduly harm the show. David Nobbs later penned a Spanish sitcom called 'The Sun Trap' which was shot abroad and still contrived to be a mighty flop. Nice to see Sally-Jane Spencer ('Linda' from 'The Fall & Rise Of Reginald Perrin' ) here, and by word, isn't there an awful lot of Sally-Jane Spencer to see?

Funniest moment - Ralph, alone in the bar, tries to chat up a plain looking girl in glasses - thinking she must be desperate for male company - and gets nowhere with her too!

I wish Jill Kerman had kept her hairstyle from the 'Please Sir!' days. The short, severe one she has here was in style with the times ( 1977 ) but makes her look a heck of a lot older. She retained it for her later role as 'Maggie' the flower-shop owner in 'Coronation Street'.
