I see that there is going to be a Season 3. While I really enjoyed the first episode, I'd better get myself used to the fact that the same story is going to go on and on. Season 2 is on the PBS station where I live right now. Things are set up very well. The running over of the guy at the start is the inciting incident. Max is the devil here and Jake has no spine. It would seem that a little bit of thought could have gotten them off the hook. A lie like we thought we hit a deer last night and the car was damaged. Going back the next day would have led to enough confusion. But that was not to be. So the die is cast and the two brothers, one, a self centered lawyer, and the second a soft spoken record store owner, now have to figure ways to avoid suspicion. When the niece of the dead man shows up, she takes a liking to Jake, totally complicating things. Jake likes her too, but he ran over her uncle and is covering it up. There are also two third parties. Max got to know an investigator, who is a drunk, and who he puts on the case with hilarious results. He has a chance to reclaim his wasted life. And, finallyt,we are told there was a witness. And, instead of going back to Chicago, the female interest is staying because she smells a rat, and because she like Jake. This could be great fun.
