Great backstory for Nikolai, lots of action, and no angst-ridden, whiny Henry in the episode.

Needed to leave this review after seeing reviews that did not understand the value of this episode. This episode was 100% needed so the character of Nikoli had integrity and credibility, before this episode we had ZERO ideas about what his motives were fully or the motives of the organisation he was working for. This episode is an eye opener for part of the reason why this organisation is conducting these terrible experiments. This has been a large missing point since season 1. We HAVE NEVER KNOWN ANYTHING ABOUT THESE GUYS. Not to mention the cinematography of the episode was breathtaking. The only reason I did not give it 10 is because it feels slow at times. By the way giving a show a low rating solely because of subtitles shows you dont have any true appreciation for what you are watching. They needed to have these characters primarily speaking Romanian in this episode because THATS WHERE NIKOLI IS FROM duhh, it would be stupid for them to speak English in a country where that is not the main language. Tired of people winging about subtitles smh.

A beautiful and heartbreaking episode that can work as a story within a story, taking you into the backstory of Nikolai. it deftly pulls you into another world, a Romanian town in the 1980's. it is the source of his pain and the beginning of his power.

I wasn't going to bother reviewing this except I see two 8-star reviews here and want to balance that out. This is a weird backstory episode that involves a bunch of people we don't know going through an awful time. The entire episode is subtitled, which seems unnecessary in a series that is generally entirely in English. It's slow-moving, depressing, and the characters aren't particularly engaging. And the little bit of information you get could have been better conveyed through about 10 minutes of flashbacks in an otherwise normal episode.

An hour of my life I'll never get back.

Ya know, I'm in America. I expect English and reading a movie or tv shows defeats the purpose. I book is better.
