This episode is fairly heartbreaking. The end of Rusty/Jen K and Evan/Casey (who -- against all odds -- won us over). Their break-up scene is uncomfortably dramatic. We also have Frannie the Villain fully born. She'll continue to be the villain for much of the series.
On the downside: more Cappie and Rebecca development. I was never a fan of this pairing. Can't Rebecca get any storyline besides "trying to be the new Casey"?!
This was a great mid-season cliffhanger to leave the show on, ensuring we'd all come back for The New Normal. Also: cameo appearances from the greats Charisma Carpenter and Alan Ruck! Ruck as Dean Bowman is especially enjoyable and will be back a lot this season.
