- Clint and Kate's partnership is tested as they face the consequences of exposing the conspiracy.

- Eleanor meets with Fisk and he asks what he can help her with. She says that she's always done what she was told, and point out that she's repaid her husband's debt to Fisk tenfold. Fisk wonders why she has approached him, and Eleanor says that she's set up Jack to take the fall for Sloane and handled Armand, but Kate is home from college and getting too close, and that's where Eleanor draws the line. She says that she has to leave the business, and says that she's kept an "insurance policy" in case Fisk turned against her. Fisk gives her a minute to consider what she's starting, and Eleanor says that she doesn't need a minute and walks out.
Kate watches the video that Yelena made of the confrontation, and tells Clint who sent it. The girl explains that Eleanor is the one who hired Yelana to kill Clint, and wants to go talk to Eleanor. Clint tells Kate to calm down so they can talk it through. Kate calls Eleanor and gets her voicemail, and Clint says that Eleanor needs their help, and Fisk won't take it lightly. Fisk will react in a big way, and Kate tells Clint to go home and be with his family. He says that Kate is his partner and he isn't going to abandon her until it's finished.
Maya meets with Fisk and Kazi, and Fisk asks her what's been going on. Maya admits that she got carried away avenging her father's death, but now she's going to focus on the job. She's realized that no matter what she does, she can't bring William back and finding who killed him won't change anything. Fisk tells her that William would have wanted Maya to move on, and Maya asks Fisk for a couple of days off to clear her head. Her boss agrees, and says that he loves her. She returns the sentiment and goes.
Once they're alone, Fisk tells Kazi that an Avenger is taking an interest in their business, Eleanor thinks she can quit, and Maya has turned on them. Fisk says that the people need to be reminded that the city belongs to him.
Clint and Kate take a subway train, and Kate says that they need to focus on tonight. When Clint figures that they need a big batch of trick arrows, Kate asks him if he can make more. They go back to the apartment and together they make trick arrows, Clint asks her about the company holiday party, and tells Kate that she doesn't have to do it and people will get hurt, and she'll have to make some hard decisions. He wants to know if she's ready, and Kate talks about how when the Chitauri invaded NYC, Clint taught her that someone without powers could be a hero, and that inspired her. With that, she tells Clint that she's ready.
That night, the Tracksuit Mafia drive through the city to the party while Kazi monitors their progress. Meanwhile, Clint and Kate go to the party and Clint has Kate assess what she sees. Grills and the other LARPers are there, posing as waiters, and Jack is there, already out of jail and wielding a decorative sword. Jack banters with Armand VII.
Kazi sets up a sniper post on a building across the way.
Clint gives Kate a comm and scouts the party. Meanwhile, Yelena comes in. Eleanor comes in and Kate spots her, and tells Clint. Kazi sees Eleanor come in, while Eleanor leads Kate to the kitchen and Kate says that she's saving her mother's life.. She shows Eleanor the surveillance video and asks how her mother could do it, and as Eleanor tries to explain, Jack comes in and says that he has to have a word with Eleanor. Eleanor puts him off and tells Kate that she had everything under control.
Clint spots Kazi's laser sight on him, and takes cover as Kazi shoots. Clint runs for it and Yelena sees him, and Clint calls for Kate for help getting the guests out. Kate tells Eleanor to stay put while she goes to help, but Eleanor walks out leaving Jack alone. He hears the Mafia coming in and draws his sword.
The LARPers coordinate via the comms and cut the lights, and Kate spots Yelena in the crowd. Yelana ids taking an elevator, and when Kate confronts her Yelena says that she's just there to kill Clint. The Russian figures that Clint is on the elevators, and tells Kate to stay there and let her kill Clint. Kate gets in the elevator with Yelena. When Kate tries to stop the elevator, she manages to hit all the buttons and slow the elevator down. Yelena gets out on the next floor and runs for the stairs, and Kate goes after her.
The Mafia get into position, and Ivan takes a team inside. On a lower floor under construction, Clint prepares his arrows and assumes a sniper position.
Yelena and Kate fight hand-to0-hand as Yelena heads toward Clint. Kate suggests that they go get a drink, and Yelena agrees... after she kills Clint
Clint fires a gas arrow at Kazi, hitting nearby. Kazi retreats, and Kate and Yelena stop to congratulate each other on their technique. Yelena jumps out a window, using a grappling line to anchor herself as she walks down the side of the building, toward Clint's position. Kate send a warning to Clint via the comms, just as Yelena drops down in front of him and shoots a gun. He dodges and Yelena keeps shooting as she drops by, then land safely on the sidewalk below. Kate drops down the line after Yelena, past Clint, and manages to land safely. The Tracksuits get out of their vans, and Clint grabs more arrows and head town.
The Tracksuits recognize Kate and she attacks them. Tomas is there, and thanks Kate for the girlfriend advice she gave him the last time they met. Jack arrives and saves Kate from a gunman, and she apologizes for Eleanor framing him. He uses his sword to fight the Tracksuits.
On an upper floor, Ivan and his men search for Eleanor. Clint plants hidden charges ahead of them, then prepares to use a remote to set them off. Kazi attacks Clint before he can, and the two fight hand-to-hand . Clint manages to set off the charges, bring the roof down on the Tracksuits. He manages to knock out Kazi, grabs his bow, and finds more Tracksuits arriving. He runs as they open fire on him, dives out a window on a line, but the line breaks and Clint drops into a Christmas tree below on the sidewalk. He finds an owl among the branches.
Kate is fighting more Tracksuits as the base of the tree. Clint tells her where he is, just as Grills and the other LARPers come out with Kate's gear. She tells them that Jack is on their sight and the LARPers should probably get him to safety as well. They agree and go to help the arriving guests get to safety. Grills figures it's time for them to get involved as "trained professionals", and the others agree.
Maya goes to her room and gets her battle gear, and smiles at a photo of William. She looks at another photo of them with Kazi, then leaves.
More Tracksuits arrive, and Kate opens fire on them with arrow, from an uppers-story window. Meanwhile, Clint sees the suited-up LARPers come out onto the plaza, and they conduct crowd control. and fight the Tracksuits. Grills carries Armand VII to safety, and Kate shoots a line holding the tree up. She then shoots an acid arrow knocking the tree over, dropping Clint and the tree onto the nearby ice rink. The remaining Tracksuits prepare to open fire, and Kate arrives to shoot steam lines and blind the Tracksuits. Clint joins her, removing his suit to reveal that he's wearing the suit she designed for him earlier underneath. He gives Kate some of his trick arrows and tells her that it's time, and they run for the only stairs out of the rink.
The two of them fight their way out, Kate using a Pym arrow to shoot the last van and reduce it to miniature size. The owl flies down and picks it up, then flies off. Kate goes to find her mother, and Kazi and his last two men arrive. Hawkeye takes the two thugs out, and Yelana tackles him while Maya arrives and attack Kazi. He tells her that she should have left, and she knows what he has to do. They fight, and Maya kicks Kazi.
Yelena tells Clint that she has to ask him one question before she kills him. She asks what happened to Nat, and he tells her that she wouldn't believe him. What Yelena needs to know is that Nat sacrificed herself to save the world, and he's sorry. Yelena doesn't believe him and attacks him.
Maya tells Kazi that she doesn't want to kill him, and wants to leave it all behind together. Kazi says that it's his life and was never supposed to be hers, and not to make him do it as he gets to his feet.
Eleanor's bodyguard takes her to her car, and she finds the driver dead. Fisk kills the bodyguard, rips the car door off, and tells Eleanor that they should talk. Kate arrives and tells Fisk to get away from her mother, and shoots him in the chest. He casually pulls it out and shoots him with a grapple line, and Fisk uses it to pull Kate over and knock her to the sidewalk. Eleanor rams Fisk with the car.
Kazi tells Maya that he's not like her, and it's too late. She says that it isn't if he's brave enough to choose it, and Kazi says that Fisk won't let it happen and he can't walk in both worlds. He grabs a discarded arrow and attacks Maya, and she stabs him with the arrow. He collapses to the ground, dying, and tells May to leave because Fisk is coming for her.
Fisk gets to his feet, and Fisk attacks her and says she's in over her head.
Clint and Yelana fight, and Clint says that no one killed Nat but she made a choice. Yelena still doesn't believe him, and he says that he couldn't stop Nat from sacrificing herself.
Fisk yanks Kate's quiver away and throw her across the toy store they're fighting in. He breaks them and tells Kate to mind her own business, and she attacks him physically as he goes to the unconscious Eleanor in the crashed car.
Yelena wonders why Nat would sacrifice himself for Clint, and he admits that he didn't deserve it but he fought Nat for it but she was better than him. The Russian tells him that he should have fought harder, and beats him with a baton.
Fisk knocks Kate down, and she flips a cufflink at an arrowhead that Fisk is standing on. It sets off an exploding arrow, that knocks Fisk down and unconscious. Kate goes to Eleanor and helps her mother out of the car, and Eleanor says that she's sorry and they'll put it all behind them. When Kate lists all the crimes Eleanor has committed, Eleanor tells her daughter that's how the world works and she's protected Kate from it, and she did it for Kate. The police arrive, and Eleanor tells Kate that she had to take responsibility and clean things up. As the police arrest Eleanor for Armand III's murder, Kate tells her mother that she's right. Eleanor asks Kate if that's what heroes do-arrest their mothers on Christmas--Kate says that she's sorry and she loves Eleanor. The police take Eleanor away,.
Yelena prepares to shoot Clint, and Clint whistles Nat's secret signal. When Yelena wonders how he knows it, Clint says that Nat talked about Yelena all the time, and told him about how they got separated as kids and all Nat could think about that Yelena was safe. He says that never changed, and Nat loved Yelena and always wanted her safe. Yelena says that Clint had so much time with Nat, and it shouldn't have gone that way. She figures that if she had been there, she could have saved Nat. Clint tells Yelena that nothing was going to stop Nat, and Nat made her choice, and they'll have to find a way to live with that. Yelena and Clint both agree that they loved Nat, and Yelena put away her baton and helps Clint up. He says that he's sorry, and Yelena turns and walks away.
The police confirm that Fisk has escaped. Fisk staggers into an alleyway, and Maya pulls up in a van. She gets out and draws a gun, and Fisk tells her that the two of them were family, and sometimes family doesn't see eye to eye. A shot rings out.
The LARPers tells the police that they're with Clint, and one of the women LARpers tells Jack that he's hand with his sword. She suggests that the consider LARPing.
Kate and Clint sit in an ambulance, and Clint tells Kate that sometimes a person comes across someone who makes them better. He compliments the suit, and points out that he's proud of her. Kate thanks him, and they agree that they have to walk the dog.
The next day, Clint drives home to be with his family and has presents. Kate and the dog, Lucky, are with him, and Clint's children run out to greet their father. Clint introduces Kate, and Laura hugs her husband. They admit that they missed each other, and as the kids open their present Clint gives Laura the watch. She thanks Clint for recovering it, and it has a SHIELD insignia on the back. Clint tells his wife to take better care of her stuff. He calls Kate outside to help him burn his Ronin costume on the BBQ grille, and Kate suggests new hero names that she could use. Clint isn't impressed with any of them.
