Filmverkstan was a technology pool for new filmmakers, run by the Swedish Film Institute and Swedish Television between 1973 and 2001. During these years, hundreds of short feature films, documentary films and experimental films were produced mainly by young filmmakers and artists. Several of those who made films with support from Filmverkstan later became established directors, photographers, film editors or artists, as Clas Lindberg, Maria Ängquist-Klyvare, Björn Runge, Lena Koppel, Stefan Kullänger, Muammer Özer, Håkan Holmberg, Nils Olof Hedenskog and Reza Bagher did.
