Good episode but the actions of Adam are confusing
Brettyboy00722 January 2021
Episode 3 introduced a new character and side plot related to the Baxters. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. Kofi Jones is still facing an injustice but Michael and Lee are fixing to make it right and the case to go away. The detective is still involved in the case and has a very tense scene with Michael and Adam. The only thing that bothered me about this episode was Adam's actions. I just don't understand why he's doing what he's doing with the pictures and talking to Frannie.

What I love about this show.
rmccabe-3969520 December 2020
The thing I love most about this show is the tension. The characters are never "safe". There's never any breath of safety. Just pure, unfiltered tension.

This show navigates emotion like few others. What would you do in this situation?

Same. He gets creepier with each episode.

Unless the writers are setting up Adam as a total moron for good reason ... maybe he's a red herring even though he actually committed the crime in question; or his moronic actions set the stage for something important; or it shows us how badly things can go off the rails; or it's pointing out racial inequality...etc. etc. etc.

Untimely death!
kelboy1024 January 2023
Nancy is still investigating the case taking prints of Michael and Adam to pin point the night of the accident. Adam tells his girlfriend/teacher about the night of the accident which he was forbidden to do by Michael. We get the funeral scene of Rocco Baxter leaving the Baxter family distraught. Michael manages to delete footage from the gas station of his son.

The pacing is a little slower in this one, however it is still intriguing. The secret relationship of Michael son and teacher. Michael forming his own relationship. Whilst the Baxter family seek revenge. Although it seems slower pacing there is plenty of depth here leaving us wanting to find out what's next.

What's interesting is how these characters are put in situations out of their control!

Part Three
Prismark1010 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There is a good contrast between the Judge and his son Adam in this episode.

Judge Desiato is resourceful who has thought of all the angles to save his son. Looking at all the ways to erase any physical evidence such as the CCTV images at the gas station.

Adam though is a dead young man walking. A weak link of a man overcome by guilt. He goes around taking inappropriate photos, attending the Baxter family funeral and then confessing his crime to his tutor.

There is a nice shot of Adam dancing to Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart. He rather danced like the late Ian Curtis who had a strange dancing style due to his epilepsy.

I think this was a nice way by the director to bring out Adam's fragility.

Meanwhile Gina Baxter has transformed from a grieving mother into Lady MacBeth. Making plans for her other son to deal with Kofi Jones in prison.

The series is too uneven and slow burn for my liking. I do wonder if 10 episodes is too many.

Warning: Spoilers
I feel like the show hasn't become "great" yet, but it is the kind of intense short journey we need right now on TV.

Adam is so effing dumb
PopcornAnyone9 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Is Adam mentally challenged? He is just not making any normal sense and I find it really hard to believe he is the son of a well educated District Judge. Is this weakling diddling his photographer instructor? As if. Such rot. Dumb dumb dumb.

Really annoying unlikeable character
jon-evancook12 May 2021
Only 3 episodes in and I wish that somebody would bump Adam off. He's a very unlikeable character continuously making stupid decisions. The Judge's cover up lies are clearly not thought out and merely make the story even more annoying! Not sure I can last to the end!

reality check- 3rd review

Warning: Spoilers
Judges are corrupt. Cops are corrupt. Now prison guards are corrupt. Is there anybody in this series honest? Judges son going to crime scene ghetto and prison? Why is he not freeking out now? He sure got brave. Different person? People don't change like that. Judge going to funeral? There is really some good acting but I can't get over the writing. Real world people don't act like this. It's to much to believe. Sure there is corruption in the world but there is too much of it here- and things are moving way too fast. Real world is much slower. Another thing- cops, lawyers, prison officials are usually a lot more respectful of judges. This judge gets no respect- so far. And you don't send you Mob Son to commit a murder in prison- that's just insane to put a second mob son in such a risky spot when you could pay a dozen other people to do the job for 5000 bucks. Who is running this prison. Still hoping things get better.

Enough

Warning: Spoilers
It started off good, but this episode pissed me off and I'm done with this TV show. I can't waste my time with a show with such dumb main character. His father is doing everything for him, there's already a person in a prison because of him. And he does what? Tells about hit and run to his girlfriend. I just can't take this level of stupidity from a tv show that I want to take serious.
