Giselle Hurlbut states that she loves Dobie, but she is walking out on him next Thursday... because she is attending Radcliffe, all in an effort to snag a rich Harvard student as a husband. She feels that because of the sacrifices her family has made for her, she has to return the favor by getting this rich husband so that her younger sisters too can afford to go to an exclusive school to snare themselves rich husbands. As such, Dobie tries to convince his father that it would be worth his while to fund his education at Harvard instead of S. Peter Pryor. What Dobie forgets is that he also has to have the grades to transfer, which may be a bit of a problem. The primary issue is his grade in Mr. Pomfritt's poetry class. Dobie thinks his prayers have been answered when the Pomfritts ask him and Maynard to babysit to allow them to go out for the evening, which would leave Mr. Pomfritt's poetry examination left unattended...
