Young divorce court judge Chris Manning, if impeccable reputation, goes missing shortly after passing a verdict, where the irate loosing husband threatened him viciously, semi-physically but is found innocent. Chris's private life was less squeaky clean, indulging in dubious sexual relationships. While the FBI looks into it and various cases, his equally brilliant, even younger, doting court clerk Justin Hobart is fatally shot in the courthouse. Yet Chris's youth lover, now a cynical harlot, proves key to his drama.
