Although people will point to Alfie as being the replacement for Nick, in truth it was more the 'Will they, won't they?' relationship of Abi and Roger that filled the time that would have been dedicated to Nick's scheme of the week upon Kris Marshall's departure from the show.
And the culmination of this comes in this episode, as the two wed, eventually.
Personally I thought the characters worked best in a supporting capacity, and never really found the stories geared around their relationship overly funny, but I love 'My Family' and they were a big part of that, so...
This is a really nice episode, with lots of funny moments. It was also nice to see a fairly sweet scene between Ben and Abi, in which Ben wasn't as grumpy as normal.
Throw in an amusing subplot with Michael/Alfie and you've got a good episode.
