It is a good job there were no movie and television forums when MASH the tv series was originally being broadcast.

You would be reading multiple posts along the lines of. I'm a 20 year army veteran and this is in no way realistic. The latrines are the wrong dimensions for a start.

Never mind that the show was made a few miles outside some Hollywood backlot and not Korea.

68 Whiskey seems to have been made in the same backlot. This time it passes for Afghanistan.

Given MASH started out in the early 1970s. The depiction of female characters has not changed in almost 50 years.

Going by the first episode, the females seem to be sex objects are obsessed with sex. I would never have thought there would be such shallow treatment of women.

The anti hero seems to be Cooper Roback who is always looks for trouble or is in trouble. Early on he has lost big over bets in a fight he is involved in.

Later Roback is threatened with disciplinary action. He also seems to have died back home in California.

To stay afloat, Roback and his friend Mekhi Davis do a deal with some local Afghan warlords to trade medicine for drugs.

Billed as a comedy, this seems to be more of a dramedy. It is very difficult to fathom where it is going.

Roback and Davies seem to attract trouble, they also seem to have a heart of gold. They inoculate Afghan children with expired vaccines rather than throw them away.

It would has been nice if the female characters were not so shallow.

No endearing characters, bunch of crooks. Portrays our military poorly. We all expect much better out of Ron Howard. I wish I had the hour back I spent watching this crap.
