- Cyril's long-lost brother has come home...or has he?
- At the Sneer Estates, Cedric has grown saddened that Cyril does not seem to have any time to spend with him, sending the pigs instead to go to any outing or social function that Cedric is interested in.
One day, another aardvark shows up at the doorstep of the Sneer Estates, claiming to be Simon Sneer, Cyril's brother who was lost at sea years ago. Simon takes quite an interest in Cedric and begins to spend time with him. However, Cyril is convinced that Simon is a fraud, and attempts to prove it.
Cedric invites Simon to meet the others. Everyone seems happy for Cedric, except for Bert, who feels somewhat suspicious. Having recently been reading books regarding private eye Luke Warm, Bert sets out to try and find more about Simon. Upon seeing the pigs doing pizza delivery without Cyril knowing, Bert blackmails them into giving them Simon's diary, which they found in an old trunk in the attic of the Sneer Estate.
Bert continues his investigation, and uncovers a photo. After Melissa enlarges it, he notices a gardener in the background, and goes to find him...an old otter named Fern.
Meanwhile, Cyril has had to contend with Simon noting the stipulation in their father's will, of the family fortune being split between the two of them. Cyril tries to find evidence to prove Simon is a fraud, but nothing seems to be found. Eventually, Cyril is called to a law office to complete the splitting of the fortune.
Just then, Bert appears with Fern. Hoping Fern can identify Simon, Bert is upset to find that Fern has grown absent-minded, and can't recognize Simon at all. When Fern holds up a fishing worm, Simon freaks out, and Bert suddenly recalls a passage from Simon's diary, in which Simon had a childhood playmate named Sid Leech, who was terrified of worms.
Simon at first denies this, but finally confesses that he is Sid Leech. With this revelation, the splitting of the Sneer fortune is cancelled. Afterwards, Cyril agrees to attend a ballgame with Cedric, much to his delight.
Back at the Evergreen Standard, Bert tells that he was suspicious based on shaking Simon's hand. During their meeting, Simon claimed to have built a boat by hand, but his hands were soft. Anyone who built a boat by hand would not have such soft hands.
