- When Bobby Singer is discovered in a coma, Dean and Sam uncover a student who works through people's dreams to destroy them.
- Bobby Singer is attacked in Pittsburgh and is found in coma in his hotel room. Meanwhile Sam is upset with Dean's situation, drinking alone in a bar. When Dean arrives in the spot, he discusses with Sam, but they are informed by phone about the condition of Bobby. They head to the hospital where the doctor explains that he does not know the cause of Bobby's coma; therefore he does not know how to treat him. The Winchester brothers discover that Bobby was investigating the African dream root "Silene Capensis", the subject of Dr. Gregg's experiment who mysteriously died after a coma similar to Bobby's. Dean pretends to be a detective and interviews Dr. Gregg's assistant Maya Sanders and his former subject Jeremy Foster that had sleep disorder. Dean decides to call Bela to provide the African root to dream and help Bobby. - Dean dresses in a suit and tie, pretending to be a detective, when he goes to interview students and faculty at a college. He asks one stoner student about the death of Dr. Gregg and the sleep study he was conducting, testing a treatment for a sleep disorder. The student has the inability to dream and says he quit after one session with Dr. Gregg because the stuff he gave him caused him to have a very weird, super intense dream, much like an acid trip. Bobby, Sam and Dean all get trapped in their dreams and figure out that the one causing it is Jeremy, the stoner student Dean questioned.
I'm told Supernatural has an episode in the vein of A Nightmare on Elm Street, where Dean and Sam meet up with a young college graduate who has the power to enter people's nightmares and keep them locked in their own worst fears. Also, we'll get a double dose of Dean when he battles a dream version of himself.
Sam and Dean Winchester are going to "fight" Jason Voorhees in the new season of Supernatural. "We have Jason from Friday the 13th, the character with the hockey mask," show creator Eric Kripke tells the Supernatural fanzine. "He shows up in episode 10. We have cleared the rights to actually use Jason. We have a twist on it so it is not really Jason out there but we have found an interesting way to bring him in so Sam and Dean fight Jason from Friday the 13th. In our world, that is a pretty cool guest star."
