Good concept but too much of vulgar 'humour'
indianature31 October 2019
I watched all the episodes of Season - 1 of Jestination Unknown. The concept is good and it was interesting to catch glimpses of the various destinations and their local people. The stand up was not brilliant, funny at times but mostly vulgar especially Vir Das's brand of comedy in this series. I dont particularly find body part jokes funny and it is quite annoying to hear F F F all the time. A good comedian would be funny without having to resort to excessive crass language and vulgarity.

Like I said, the concept is good but my rating is 5 because I did not really enjoy this type of comedy, if one can even call it that. I do enjoy some stand up shows, for example Biswa KR's Sushi currently on Amazon Prime is really hilarious. Anyway to each their own (brand of humour).

Waste of time. Not funny at all.
ebaypicturesonly3 December 2022
No story line at all. Story keep jumping all over the place. Story line should be easy to understand an smoothly following. I had tried hard to understand where story actually going. Calling this show a comedy itself is A joke. Also adding f words everywhere DOES NOT MAKE IT FUNNY - this comment is for all indian standups. A good comedian would be funny without having to resort to excessive crass language and vulgarity. Its so annoying to hear f word and yuck examples, u forget to laugh. Calling this show a comedy itself is A joke. Will not recommend or watch this show again. Better next time.

Under rated

Well it's almost difficult to write a review for a comic. It's a joke!! If it's not one they will make it a joke. This show deserves a review and more importantly a perfect 10 review. Vir Das and team have done a wonderful job in capturing the essence and the diversity of India, while making you laugh most of the time and smile all the time. The jokes land perfectly, on time and all the time. If they don't, editing has done a perfect job to make sure the landing is perfect. Which is why 10/10!! Not sure how they will up themselves next season, best outcome is possibly retire?!

Not that funny
Getnchauhan14 December 2020
Vir Das jokes so matter of factly that at times he tries to prove a point logically and thinks it will be funny but more often than not it is not. Also, dont do that smug face when u think u have said something very intelligent (in a joke) and u r looking for an acknowledgement. Also adding f words everywhere DOES NOT MAKE IT FUNNY - this comment is for all indian standups. Four stars for visiting small indian cities which u wud not get to know abt otherwise.

A joke

This is the first time ever after having watched a show i wanted to write a review on it. Calling this show a comedy itself is A joke. Its so annoying to hear f word and yuck examples, u forget to laugh. The crew really need to master the art before making tragedies out of comedy shows. Suresh menon was the only consolation.

Great Show
prabhasghai16 November 2022
Each episode has a different flavour to it. Some may be slow and others fast, but they are all entertaining. It has less of stand up and more of cultural observations, which makes this show unique. The way each city has been explored in a time span of just 72 hours is interesting. It counts as a travel show more than a comedy show. But as always, Vir Das does tasteful comedy. The cast shuffles from episode to episode. The stand up duration is really less in some episodes, which should be increased in the upcoming season. Some of the episodes were very well covered culturally while some could have been covered better. Must watch.

Very Funny & innovative story line

Some brilliant stuff, underrated. Vir Das is creating waves, I am surprised Amazon did not promote this enough. They funded but didn't put out ads. Its still not late, if they started recommending it, people would watch it!

Thought Provoking Lighthearted Indian Local Comedy
jeemani31 August 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed The Trip with the cast specially Kerala, Punjab and Leh. Not only did the show capture local humor perfectly but the sceneries of South India's Lakes and the Pennine North India mountains made me want to go there. This show did borrow somewhat from Sideways but in a less substantial way. This was a lighthearted, humorous road show taking you through Indian places which also required you to think! The art references, Local issues and common people turmoils throughout the show , was thought provoking and humorous at the same time.

I couldn't help but notice that the Lion share of hard work seems to be of Script Writers to have to come up with a content in right measures of humor, Facts , Local issues ,Arts and literary spontaneously based on place seem to be challenging. Great show !!

A must watch show.

First three episodes were bit boring then it was fabulous. The way they followed traditions and did shows that was too cool. One advice which i would love to give to them is that when they used shruti seth and suresh menon(who are quite famous and known comedian compared to one you had in first three episode) they did much better than others. One should be famous apart for vir das.
