Brilliant finale
Nightmarelogic19 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The first season told three unique stories set in one Pasadena home in three different eras. All three stories are exceptionally well done although the current era one is the weakest. Most people comment on Lucy Lui in the 80s era story and her relationship with both her gay husband Karl and her young lover Tommy. But personally I found the 60s story to be the best. Ginnifer Goodwin was superb as Beth Ann Stanton the increasingly bitter wife of the lying and cheating Rob Stanton.

The final episode weaved all three stories into their own exiting conclusions and I can't wait to see what Marc Cherry comes up with next.

A fantastic finale in style

I binged this series over some evenings. The first episodes are hilariously funny. With episode 4 the series turned sad. Between the ten episode there was a full range of different emotions.

Extremely well written, full of suspense, love and passion. Funny, tragic, stylish. Excellently played. Just loved watching it all. The tango scene was out of this world. What creativity !

I've just witnessed one of the best season finales i've ever seen in any TV show. That scene where the 3 worlds meet is just outstanding, beautiful, increidble, and everything in between. Such an amazing series, so well written and acted, i loved every single storyline and wasn't bored for a minute. This is how you do a show. Bravo.

First off, WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO WATCH THIS SHOW!!

10 episodes had me gripped and guessing SO much of what could and would happen but I did NOT expect to see that. This show has been incredibly written, acted and the story was genius I mean the end sequence alone WHOA I'm definitely going to need to re watch this episode alone. Heartbreaking, intense and perfect!

What a piece of staging. I suspect this scene was written first and the plot was then created to deliver it

so. The story takes place in this vast house in 3 different eras, 60s, 80s, present day. Each couple's story develops so now it's time for the killings. And we see them all at the same time, in the house, the characters passing behind and in front of each other as the scenes play out in a sort of ballet. Saw it 2 nights ago and I'm still thrilled.

That's it. W o w.

Wow, incredibly well done.

I was so scared they they couldn't maintain the good writing all the way through to the end of the final episode, but WOW did they nail it! Singularly amazing how they physically wove the ending scenes together... I have never seen anything like it.

I'm sorry, I don't want to write anything else about it, for fear of giving anything away, but it says that I have 234 characters left, so what am I supposed to do? I will just say that this is one of the best pulled off series endings that I have seen in a long time. Like Newhart Show long time. 49 characters to go, so yeah, you should, like, see it.

I really, really loved this show except one scene

Warning: Spoilers
The story was beautifully crafted, and the resolution of each storyline would have felt perfect...

Spoilers below.

...but the scene that resolves all three storylines felt cluttered. The tango scene in isolation would've been a beautiful, poignant goodbye; but there was so much to take in at once that the resolutions felt robbed of the majority of their impact.

Still thoroughly looking forward to the next season though, everything else about this show was "sublime".
