Not very bad though
saru202028 November 2019
It was made to attract people living below the poverty lines, especially the younger generations who watch craps like this in a theatre. Although the movie serves the purpose with some engageable content and a small twist in the end, the overall experience is not satisfying enough and makes us feel like a waste of time. I still really think that Santhanam should come back and rule the comedy field instead of wasting his time in establishing as a hero.

Good Movie. Everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs and BGM in the movie were good. The movie lagged at 1st half. The movie was interesting at 2nd half. The movie lagged at some scenes because of some unwanted scenes. Good Movie.

Some Crackers...Not No. 1 for sure..

Chennai language not suits for Santhanam. Claerly shows that he is kind of acting. Suits oy for Comedy scenes. Some crackers are very nice and twist in the climax. No heroism required but worth watch one time.

A Casteist Stereotypical movie
umahksuresh27 October 2019
Here the director has once again proved that by targeting a particular community (the recent trend in Tamil society),and by hurting one's sentiments., Humour can be induced to all audience. But this movie clearly shows the narrow mindedness and prejudiced thoughts about a set of people and obnoxious ways of ridiculing the same.To summarize , more than the protagonist the director seems to be a ruthless casteist.

A politically incorrect laugh riot
sharansrinivas-g5 October 2020
A1 is not meant for you, wokeheads. It's for us, the ribald and the crass, the truth-seekers and naysayers. It's a celebration of everything that's politically incorrect. Santhanam's brand of humour is alive and kicking. A good supporting cast (including a misplaced MS Baskar) provide good laughs. Tara Alisha-Berry's character seems to be a stereotypical Brahmin woman, the kind you never see on the streets. I did enjoy the Brahmin slang and the humour around it. There's some truth to the main plot which is of a Brahmin father rejecting a marriage proposal from a non-Brahmin family. Casteism is ruining many lives and A1 may not the best solution but it's a funny one.

I have to mention Tara Alisha Berry again because while her character was stereotypical, I can sense a good actress having a lot of fun with the role.
