A strong episode
Paularoc31 March 2013
The episode starts with a good panoramic view of a circus/carnival venue. Lanyard visits two old friends he first met in France during WW II. Jarvo and Jarvette are clowns in the circus. Jarvette is a rather simple fellow who is mute due to being tortured in the war and Jarvo takes care of him. Lanyard discovers that an agent for the Federal Insurance Company, Frank Gibson, is working undercover as a prop man. Gibson is investigating an armored car heist where two thieves got away with $100,000. A murder occurs and Lanyard starts his own investigation. This episode is sadder than most but as usual it's kinda easy to figure out the culprit as there are so few suspects. There's a very exciting conclusion on a roller coaster. Very well done cinematography given that that the episode was made in 1954.
