Power and revenge
yahaira-729-6947017 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There is nothing more scary then a women's fury. Some of the Arabic girls start a protest and march, some seek to avenge their oppressors. The journalist tuned wants to film it and share it with the world. However, the oppression is great and so is their protests. This film is done well and provocative. Roxy seeks justice for her mom's death and burns the gang member who killed her, starting a gang war for which her dad will seek to punish her. Ellie rises to power as she is trained by her inner voice and becomes a leader for the girls who reside with the nuns. The acting is good and intense as the women and girls seek to have power.

Saudi Arabia

Warning: Spoilers
This show gets better with every episode!

The Saudi Arabia part was both heartbreaking and beautiful.

Men being small minded and violent toward little girls.

Women and girls standing up for eachother, keeping eachother safe.

The part where the protesters liberate a captive woman and then give her the power, that was so beautifully made it made my eyes tear up.

I loved Allie since she was introduced, but she is starting to give me the creeps.

I feel like she's gonna go all Darth Vader pretty soon.

I hope om wrong tho, it would be awesome to see a black teenage girl Jesus.

She's a very complex character!

Best episode so far. I couldn't stop crying. This is the reality in most Middle East countries. Women are oppressed, beaten, even denied education. Just yesterday I read an article that school girls in Iran are being poisoned for wanting to go to school.

I hope this review will be published, unlike the first one that I wrote about this show. I do not understand why the first one was not published. My only guess is that it was Sunday and there were many other reviews to handle.

I hope that we will see again what is the situation in Middle east. I do not think that things will be so easily resolved. I really wish they could.

Best episode so far
kemmysunshine7 April 2023
The quality of this show has always been good but this episode is excellent.

Real power, real drama and as expected, the world building and character development begins to really pay off. (Why do so many armchair reviewers not understand how this works?)

I found the Saudi Arabia sequences hugely emotional and fought back tears for the bulk of the episode.

It's beautiful, inspiring, frightening and utterly refreshing. To witness the (potentially real world) oppression resisted and everyday micro aggressions turned against the aggressors is truly a thing of beauty.

This is a chronicle of change which will not follow the hackneyed path we've learned to expect from so much popular media. Few films and tv series actually dare to take events through to the ultimate inevitability.

This one is going all the way.

Perfect pacing

Warning: Spoilers
For me, the sign of a great episode of television is when I'm pausing every few minutes, scared that the episode might be over soon. I must have paused a dozen times, SURE that the episode must be over soon, only to be delighted that it wasn't. So much of the story advances this episode. Perhaps my favorite yet.

We get to see the true extent of the powers with Eve's healing abilities. We get to see the oppressed overcoming their oppressors, at least temporarily.

I'm happy to see the family dynamics in multiple arcs develop so much. I'm so pleased with the casting in this show, as it's hard to imagine better choices.

I can't wait for next week!
