Powerful episode

Wow! This was a great episode. I loved exploring Sara more as she's one of the best dynamic characters, and the conversation with her and Darby was very emotional and well-executed.

A Step in the right direction

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't really care for Sara's character, and I thought the shift in focus from Darby to her was strange. But there was some really good character development for Darby in this episode, which makes up for the shift in focus. The ending was also very powerful. I still wish these episodes were longer, and Anna still talks like she has a cold. But this is one of the better episodes so far, and aside for how she talks, Anna kills it with her performance. However, I am not sure how I feel about Anna being in a strip club.

Bad timing.

Warning: Spoilers
What I have learned from relationships is that so much of it is dumb luck.

Obviously people need to be nice etc but you know what? If the timing isn't right your relationships won't work. Poor Sara was out of synch with her ex so he walked away. She was out of synch with her friends who were ready for a more tame life.

She was out of synch and that was no one's fault but this was still a heartbreakingly sad episode of one of the most important pieces of TV around right now.

I just wish that shows like this had existed back in the 1980s.

Sara Yang

Love Life seems to move on from being light and frothy to something more darker as the episodes go on.

Sara Yang is more about the disintegration of Darby's friend Sara after the break up of her own relationship.

As Sara and Darby attend a friend's Bachelorette party at a cabin in the woods. Sara self destructs on booze and cocaine.

Darby sticks by her friend and offers her help to beat her addiction. An offer that is rebuffed.

An insight into addiction and it shows what a good friend that Darby can be.

It is the second episode in a row that is light on her love life. I wonder if these deviations are because there is not enough content.
