There are a couple of allusions to Cobie Smulders's former series How I Met Your Mother (2005). In the flashback scenes after a night of drinking, she says "But, um" several times. In Jenkins (2010), her character saying that phrase was the subject of a drinking game. Also, her client is given a false phone number by a girl at a bar. In How I Met Everyone Else (2007), one of the other characters when first introduced got a fake phone number from a girl at a bar.
