Those crazy Greenside boys are back with a crazy no-budget cyberpunk yarn called Prism. Seriously, if you thought Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer showed promise with Zero Trooper-f and Dark Island you should get a load of Prism. Really slick stuff.
Here's the beef:
Set in the year 2032, two young urban explorers break in to a science conference (creatively named Sci-Con) being put on by one of the leading tech companies of their time, Shizuka Inc. Shizuka has a star scientist within their ranks, a certain Dr. Blackwell. He has invented a teleportation device, which he is set to debut to the world at this conference.
Unfortunately for Dr. Blackwell, the two young urban explorers (Vadim and Nessa) have found themselves in the room where the Prism (personal teleportation device) has just been prepped for the stage. The scientist enters the room, but before he can retrieve the device, the two kids panic,...

If you recall in recent years we covered a number of independent films, Zero Trooper-f and Greenside and Dark Island, and were simply blown away by what the filmmakers were able to do with limited resources. Two of those involved with those projects are Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer. They've done everything from the direction, visual effects, action direction and editing on those and many more films and have been toiling away on their own YouTube channel, Corridor Digital, as of late creating a variety of fun shorts. They will release a new short film on July 1st titled Prism and it looks to be bigger than their usual YouTube fare so I thought it worth a mention. Even so, you should subscribe to their channel anyways... Here is...

Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.
Who’S It For? Fans of The Chronicles of Narnia.
Movie:
This film had it’s moments, but in all in all, I’d consider it to be very forgettable. For diehard fans of the books and previous films, I imagine this film will deliver some degree of satisfaction, but for me, I failed to find it very interesting at all. It did have some spectacular CGI locations,...

It’s fascinating to see the enduring appeal of C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia at a time when people poo-poo the heavy-handed religious imagery and pales in comparison to the far richer world of Middle Earth as envisioned by Lewis’ friend J.R.R. Tolkien. The films based on both series have their fans and detractors and the success of Tolkien’s trilogy paved the way for the long-overdue big budget adaptation of Narnia.
Unfortunately, Walden Media, which has been spearheading these films, has decided to aim squarely for the religious and family audiences, which has led to a look of cheapness and familiarity that has robbed the three films to date of their specialness.
Walt Disney bailed on the series after the so-so reception and box office to Prince Caspian, which many involved felt may have strayed from their targets. 20th Century Fox stepped up and is now the studio...

Here's the thing ... if you lose communication with a group of people, it's not such a wise idea to send more people to see what happened to them. Though sending the new group heavily armed is always a plus and a recipe for some horrifically sweet gore! Hopefully that's exactly what we'll get when Dark Island aka Infected pops up on our shores.
Directed by Niko Pueringer and Sam Gorski, Dark Island stars Jai Koutrae, Mary Christina Brown, Victoria Floro, and Zero Kazama. Dig on the plot crunch, the stills, some artwork, and even the trailer below. Look for more on this one soon!
Synopsis

Fans of Broken Blood River and The Devil's Chair get ready for more from screenwriter Simon Boyes as Bloody-Disgusting has learned that he'll be taking a small break from working with Adam Mason to bring us Dark Island, a new horror film that begins shooting in Los Angeles next week. Beyond the break you can get the inside scoop on the movie, watch this spot for more as it comes in. In Dark Island five members of a pseudo-militaristic scientific expedition were sent to a remote island for weapons testing, until the weapon got out of hand. We got in touch with Simon who gives us some more depth into the project. More...

I've been wary of this ever since the first footage dropped, but considering it's source (producer Eric Lim who did Zero Trooper-f) I'll give it a chance. And yes, it does look like the smoke monster from Lost.
After losing contact with its researchers on a remote island, a military corporation hires a group of scientists and soldiers to find out what went wrong. But when they arrive, the team quickly discovers that the weapons testing performed on the island has unleashed and powerful and deadly entity that will stop at nothing to destroy them all.

Ah, it does me good to finally be able to post this.
A little while back the initial sales promo for Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer’s debut feature film Infected leaked out, sparking a flurry of email to me at Twitch asking why we hadn’t run it. You see, we’ve been covering Pueringer and Gorski - and their regular producer Eric Lim - in these pages for a while now and I’m actually a co-producer on this film - co-producing in this case essentially boiling down to introducing key people and offering some notes on the script - so it struck some as odd that the teaser never appeared on Twitch. And, honestly, it stung a bit to hold it back here while seeing it turn up other places. But there were good reasons. First of all, that early teaser was never intended for public eyes...

Yes, I’m biased as all hell on this one - I’m in the credits as a co-producer - but today was my first chance to see footage from Niko Pueringor and Sam Gorski’s Infected, the feature debut from the team behind Greenside, working from a script by Broken and The Devil’s Chair scribe Simon Boyes. Now, this reel is completely raw - they’re still in principal photography right now and actually shot this and prepared some basic special effects for it while on set - but there’s an awful lot in there to like. The action sequences are convincing, there’s more martial arts featured than I expected, producer Eric Lim’s gone and gotten himself all roughed up for his on-screen role, the cast look solid and Gorski and Pueringor prove again to have a solid cinematic eye and unusual gifts when it comes to special effects.

Another foreign film we'll be following pretty closely is Niko Pueringor and Sam Gorski's "Infected", the scifi horror hybrid feature length debut from the core team behind indie short "Greenside". Scripted by Simon Boyes ("Broken", "The Devil's Chair", "Blood River") the film revolves around an experimental bio-weapon run amok on a sparsely populated island and is in production now. Inside you'll find a link to four posters for the film, courtesy of Twitch Film....

Yes, I’ve posted rather a lot about Niko Pueringor and Sam Gorski’s Infected recently - we had the first stills from the film and a quartet of poster concepts - and this will be the last one for a little while, I promise, at least until we get some more imagery or a teaser to share. And what do we have today? Well, first of all we have the official, final version of the poster - now with the correct tag line - to the left and, to correct some misinformation floating around that confuses this film with a different one of the same title, we have the official synopsis:
After losing contact with its researchers on a remote island, a military corporation hires a group of scientists and soldiers to find out what went wrong. But when they arrive, the team quickly discovers that the weapons testing...

Last week there were rumblings from the Twitch lab alluding that the core team behind the wildly inventive scifi short, Greenside, were moving into the world of feature filmmaking. Well, not only are they indeed moving into features, but Eric Lim and directors Niko Pueringor and Sam Gorski are doing it in style with an awesome looking scifi/horror hybrid called Infected.
The film tells the story of a group of researchers sent to a remote island where experimental research has unleashed an anamorphic creature with the ability to move quickly from host to host - hence the film’s title - destroying everything in its path.
Scripted by Simon Boyes (the guy that wrote The Devil's Chair and Blood River), Infected looks like a film we're gonna love and I honestly can't wait to see what these guys do with a little bit of moola behind them. Thanks to Twitch,...

Just last week we brought you the first official images from producer Eric Lim and directors Niko Pueringor and Sam Gorski’s Infected - the scifi horror hybrid feature length debut from the core team behind indie short Greenside - and this week we’ve got a quartet of poster images from the film. Scripted by Simon Boyes (Broken, The Devil’s Chair, Blood River) the film revolves around an experimental bio-weapon run amok on a sparsely populated island and is in production now.
When I posted the first stills from this last week I noted that I’m a co-producer on the project - though not a hugely hands-on one - and the Twitch connections actually get a little deeper with the arrival of this new artwork as all four poster images are the creations of one Omar Hauksson, who regular readers here will recognize as our very own Swarez.
