Ended the only way it could?

Warning: Spoilers
The girls discover their Dad, the heritage of the 'son' is discovered, a civil war erupts and it ends, not entirely satisfyingly so, but unless the writer wanted to explore and explain the cult, it's probably a reasonable ending. Would like to see more from this writer

Now that was an ant-climax if any.

My first reaction was - what is this? Did we get through all this running, green colors, blood, strange people, his family showing up, a lot of killing - for WHAT?

An enourmlysy long speach in the church from the woman with the baby, to the oldest daughter, a lot more running from the young daughter, and some confusing talk about the boy. (I don't remember peoples names, thats how much impact they made on me)

Then the mother swimming to the mainland towing a boat. And that's it.

I don't know what this story was about. Really. Some confused dude coming to an island with strange people, and his wife looking for hum, finding out that they are strange, and she leaves. Maybe I missed something important?

Last 2 episodes killed it.

I had high hopes for this mini series. Great casting, and gripping until it felt like somebody had flicked the far-fetched switch midway through episode 4. Everything felt rushed. No explanations, chunks missing like plot-craters. Tolerated Jude's gormless post lobotomy expressions and dialogue, and when the open-end came I was more confused than ever.

It's here!

All questions, had been answered.

Story ended with its vague unique way of tying up everything it needs to, to a point possible. But this quite doesn't feel like the end.

I suppose the problem with this mini-show is that it tells a tale about the crazy people, the herd mentality, such groups of them and what brought them together where they are, then the other type of crazies who's lost themselves because they've lost people. So it's not easy for one to intend to anticipate to understand some purpose out of the story, but just to grasp a bit of what it really is about.

Well...

I absolutely love Dennis Kelly as a writer but what on earth actually was this? Undoubtedly, I'm still a fan of his work & will support whatever project he's involved with in the future but my undying admiration for his work won't blind me to any faults I spot within it... And sadly, here there are plenty.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement - as I was expecting that by the end of "Winter", we'd finally be provided with some sort of explanation as to why "Summer" warranted a sequel... But after concluding the final episode, there's still no justification for its existence. You could've easily stopped watching after the 3rd installment & it wouldn't have many any difference to your viewing experience whatsoever.

Hence, despite possessing a few truly great moments of tension & some really beautifully acted scenes (notably from Naomie Harris who delivers an incredible performance as "Helen"), this series ends on a lacklustre note which feels totally unnecessary & unresolved.

discard everything from eps 1 - 3

Warning: Spoilers
So the kid and the mystique built up from episode 1 to3 ? They effectively retconned that central storyline. It's clearly done to diminish Jude Law's character to a sideshow day-walking bum. A typical characterization of a misandrist production, of which the second half of the mini series strongly embodies.

considering eps 4 and 5 are nothing but useless filler episodes, this mini series should had just stopped at 3.

(the change of production cast for eps4-6 reflects this turn about of quality)
