A day at the races
Arthur's having trouble shifting the goods in his lockup and the motors on his lot. Depressed by a losing day at the dog races, Arthur and Ray drop in on The Winchester, which is empty thanks to the recession. Arthur's bright idea is to invent happy hour.

Meanwhile, Ray's big idea is to launch a car-for-hire service. He gets Arthur to hire a young go-getter - a bl-kk guy - to accompany Ray handing out flyers door-to-door advertising a car-for-hire service.

Ol' Bill gets a little over-zealous and arrests Winston the go-getter but Arthur bails him out of the nick with his usual slick talk. Winston then inadvertently hires out Arthur's beautiful Daimler. Which subsquently leads DS Morley on a high-speed chase. Morley thinks it was Arthur behind the wheel.

Ray needs to intervene to sort things out. He and Winston even get into a decent punch-up.

Well-devised story, good comedy lines, and for the most part it strikes the right light-hearted tone.

There's even a plot twist at the end. And I'm guessing a prologue/punchline that involves what I'm guessing is a bit of stunt casting, though I personally don't recognize the guy since I'm Canadian and watching this episode 30 years after it aired.

Ray throws Linda's brother out the window into the garden in front of Arthur. Morley and Field show up. Ray tells them they are behind the recent robberies. On the drive to the Winchester Arthur and Ray make up and agree to keep working together.
