- Huey, Dewey and Louie's plan to make Scrooge think it's Saturday to get their allowances causes a global crisis.
- On a Thursday, Huey, Dewey and Louie notice a store having a sale on bicycles, but are short on cash. The store owner mentions that the sale will last until Saturday, but this is the same day that Uncle Scrooge gives the boys their allowances, and that'll be too late to get the bikes.
The boys ask Scrooge for an advance on their allowance, but he refuses.
Using their heads, the nephews decide to trick Scrooge, replacing everything mentioning Friday with Saturday items. Scrooge falls for the ruse, and pays the boys. However, when he begins to conduct business, Scrooge is confused why people wish to discuss Friday information when it is Saturday. With the business world believing him to be correct (if you can't trust Scrooge McDuck, who can you trust?), everyone soon assumes that it really is Saturday.
This begins to cause chaos throughout the world, and the boys feel it as well. Going to buy the bikes, the store employees say the sale is off since it is Saturday.
A crucial business deal for Scrooge has also fallen apart due to the date error. Fenton Crackshell has been sent to the Banana Republic to renew a factory contract, but with the country's dictator claiming that the date to renew fell on a Friday, he refuses to renew.
The nephews, after seeing all the trouble they have caused, finally confess what happened to Scrooge. When Fenton calls Scrooge regarding the contract issues, Scrooge flies to the Republic with the nephews stowing away.
Scrooge tries to convince the dictator, but he and Fenton are both jailed when Scrooge and the dictator get into a shouting match. Hoping to free Scrooge and Fenton, the nephews reveal that there should have been a solar eclipse over the Republic on Friday. Sure enough, this proves correct, and Scrooge and Fenton are released, with Scrooge signing the renewal to the contract.
Everyone gets home just in time for Friday to really become Saturday.
