Fifth episode of "Back to You" was only slightly amusing

Warning: Spoilers
Well, this episode of "Back to You" seemed to go everywhere without hitting any payoff. In a nutshell: A carpool system has developed with Kelly going with Montana and Gary with Marsh who is a rotten driver. Chuck agrees to take Ryan to dinner to prove to Kelly he's not "rude" while Kelly agrees to spend the night with Montana to prove she's not "strict". Chuck almost ditches dinner with Ryan-even with Ryan falling down drunk on the floor-with a willing woman (Tia Carrere, in a brief if effective appearance). Ryan eventually ends up at Chuck's sharing a cigar...Better in the second act than the first, I thought the whole thing seemed a little predictable and only marginally amusing. Montana probably came off best here. Nice to see Ms. Carrere again after seeing her on "Dancing with the Stars" last year. Long loved her since Wayne's World. The weakest part were the Gary-Marsh driving scenes. Will review after a couple of weeks since "Back to You" will be preempted by Fox baseball playoffs during that time.

Fairly amusing, but nothing special

Warning: Spoilers
Unfortunately 'Back to You' thus far hasn't been overly consistent, with the odd dud episode creeping in.

This is one of those episodes. Although the writers were smart to explore the characters relationships outside of work, and getting them out of the workplace, none of the stories were that great.

I thought the Marsh/Gary story was something we'd seen in sitcoms time and time again.

The Montana/Kelly story fares a little better, with Ayda Field being allowed to flesh out the character of Montana a little.

The constant one-upmanship between Kelly and Chuck again comes into play, and this gets a bit wearying over time. I did think the Chuck/Ryan story had its moments though.

A gentle amusing episode without being great.
