At the end of the seventies, aged eighteen, I unexpectedly found myself in a Paris theater that was performing a work mixing theater and choreography by an artist I had never heard of : Pina Bausch. When I stepped out I was no longer the same. Pina Bausch, as the saying goes, has been the artist that has changed my life. Until her death, in 2009, I've seen over and over again all the pieces by that great artist, in France and abroad, whenever I had the opportunity. That short filmed letter is the story of the mysterious and poetic bond I have maintained at a distance during forty years with that singular and unforgettable woman who has transformed life's course for many of her spectators.
