If you have any interest in the space program from the 60's, this is must see. Excellent footage, restored for HD wide screen TV, some of which I'm sure has never been seen...like Neil Armstrong having to eject and parachute to safety during a training mission when he was flying the Lunar Landing Module that exploded. Also interesting stuff, such as NASA originally wanted to use prisoners as the astronauts, offering the reward of prison time, I guess they figured the chances of men surviving was slim. President Eisenhower insisted on military pilots. Also JFK was not a huge proponent of the space program, he was concerned about the enormous price tag for what he considered mostly prestige in beating the Russians in space. My only complaint is that it ends after that triumphant voyage of Chapter 11 when Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon. There would be 5 more landings, although none of these caught the imagination of the public like the first and the Apollo 13 mission which had to be aborted and would become the most famous because of the excellent Ron Howard film. Maybe there are plans to produce a 2nd season, I hope.

A documentary on the US space program with new insight and footage is rare. This series is well worth watching. The narration is accurate without being trite, and the interviews with the engineers and astronauts involved are priceless.

Too much unneeded commentary from the "space experts." We as an audience can figure it all out by the video, and no need for the high pitched voice of said "expert".
