So far so good

I'm really liking this show so far and look forward to watching more. Lucy Lawless is all believable and well suited to the role - funny when she needs to be, tough and smart at other times. I really like her friend that helps out as well. Nice to see the good relationship Lucy has with the police - I'm a little tired of shows where everyone has a conflict with the main character even though they prove how good they are at their job week in, week out.

I'm not super clear on what Lucy's character does for money? Does she get a big pension? I hope to see more of a two way relationship between her and her assistant, rather than the assistant doing tons of work for free each episode, while neglecting her own life.

I'm sure you could pick apart a great deal of the plot this episode, but for me what really stood out was how unbelievable the final solution was. I'm sure most of us have fixed holes in drywall, and it takes a good deal of work and time (so things can dry) to make let's say a 1 cm hole unnoticeable. Toothpaste doesn't do it. Ok, the killer had time in the one room, but somehow she stuck a plug in from the opposite side of the wall in the other room and a forensics team doesn't notice it? Not to mention, even with bad construction, there's not going to be a single piece of drywall separating the rooms. What was described was completely impossible.

However, since I'm new to the show and still just enjoying the new setting and characters, I can overlook the solution to the mystery. But if this happens each episode, I may have to bail.
