We ended up in the same timeline

Our favourite sassy-redhead pocket-rocket is back striding through the streets of New York.

Intriguing set up with the 'basic concepts of time and space suddenly eluding Nadia' - great opening performance from Natasha Lyonne. Fabulous music choices (Bauhaus, Danzig) and a deluge of subtle orientation references - I liked the French railway poster!

An excellent scene setter, glad this is back.

Nowhen

Warning: Spoilers
This show does drag at times, but it also has a very clear voice and knows how to tell a story. They sucked us right back in and while I'm not confident of this all making sense in the end, I am curious to see how it plays out.

Love the Show, but Disappointed

Filming in a specific time era is a always, every freaking time, so disappointing. The production goes through so much trouble to change everything from cars to wallpaper to match the time period, BUT they then film it with 4K camera??

Why is such a hard concept that to keep the authenticity of the time period it must be captured by the technology of that time period??

Also, it would've been an easier way to discern between the two time periods!

Some stories are not meant to be dragged along several seasons
vadim-berman13 July 2022
Season 1 was brilliant. It had a novel, well-defined concept, with a quirky New Yorker as a leading character, and a consistent plot. It was a story that had a satisfying and consistent ending, tying loose ends.

It must have been too tempting for Netflix not to try to make it into a franchise. Trouble is, when the story is over, it's not easy to come up with a sequel.

And so the scriptwriters came up with... something. No plot, no answers, no reasoning, a resolution that makes no sense; some of the subplots go nowhere. There is the same wise-cracking New Yorker (whose heritage got retconned to Hungarian), and Alan, who is there, but for no discernible reason. Apart from Natasha Lyonne, no reason to waste your time on this.

Folks in Netflix, when considering to extend a show, please start by looking at the script and not by talking to your CFO.

Season 2 is just awful

Season 1 was brilliant.

Season 2 is such a catastrophe.

Boring and at most times Nadia is abrasive and not at all funny.

Who is writing this garbage?

Sorry, what is this?

I was excited to watch season 2 of Russian doll but there has nothing to do with the first one.

Different plot, and the lead has been rewitten as a different nationality to fit the new storyline.

It's nonsensical and just like 'you' a single season would have been largely sufficient because it was brilliant on its own.

This however is - honestly I don't even know what it is - It's uninteresting it does not grab your imagination or your sense of wonder like the first one did.

Extremely bizarre move by a company desperate for cash. The Netflix curse is 100% real. I even felt bad for the actors , dragged in this incoherent mess.
