Amazing episode.
CHUDMasterPatriot30 December 2019
It's amazing that everything is coming together from the first season. Things have not been forgotten that we, the audience, thought were left up in the air in previous seasons.

Fantastic episode, but what's up with the sound mix?
carverhale2 January 2020
A good deal of this episode is taken up with flashbacks into Mickey's past, the rest with the ongoing storyline. And all of it is classic Ray Donovan. Violence, dealing, back stabbing, Mickey screwing up, repeatedly But the audio is mixed horribly. Any scene where characters are talking in a noisy environment, (and there are a lot of bar scenes, or conversations in cars) the dialogue is lost in the background noise, especially the lower pitched whispering growlers like Ray, or flashback Mickey & pals. Other times it was just weirdly quiet and echoing. My sound bar is usually set to "movie" and works just fine with auto volume & drc enabled. But for this I had to switch it to asc, raise the treble & lower the bass to make it at least audible. I don't know how this episode passed with the levels so badly mixed, but I found myself straining to hear what was being said on more than one occasion, and missed a lot of it, even after adjusting my sound bar. I've never had this happen with any other episodes so far, so what's gone on here is a mystery.

THE BEST YET
steve-667-1019031 December 2019
I wish I could use larger bolder font on the "The".

Your masterpiece to date.

Please keep them coming. The only thing I look forward to on TV. This one was special. An overdue insight into young Mick and Ray Ray. Wow the actors nailed it. I love/hate Mick more than ever now. Thanks for this incredible show. Yep it's vulgar and a lot of what I'm often critical of nowadays but it still wins for me.

Magic stuff.

Kyra Sedgwick

She has outdone herself. This episode has masterfully woven together the past and present while bringing you deeper inside the characters of major players.

One Of The Best Episodes In The Series
ecatalan981 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ray Donovan just keeps getting better and better! With this episode we find out a lot about the Donovan family back story and understand some of the scorn Ray feels towards his dad Mick. I'm surprised the series hadn't touch on this before. We get flashbacks of what happened to Mick 40 years ago and the reason he spent 20 years in prison. Mick wants to settle the score with the person who betrayed him but Ray is on that person's side.

Although I've always been sympathetic towards Mick's character, the recent episodes have shown us his more cynical, devil-May-care side more than ever before which makes me wonder if he will survive this season.

Ray Donovan is top notch entertainment and hands down one the best series out there. Highly recommended!

Great episode but sound quality?!?
Kevbrown772 January 2020
Great episodes but the sound quality was bad. Yes, I realise the flashback sequences may have needed a different quality to the normal scenes but the whole thing was all over the place.

Need Sandy's message
raerobin2 January 2020
I loved Sandy's outgoing message in that gruff, gravelly voice. I want to find this and make it my outgoing message. Loved the episode.

Give Mickey a break
hadar-danny30 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show, I love most of the characters, but I probably love Mickey the most, can he pls get a break, I didn't like his past story, Mickey is bad but he's not heartless like this past Mickey was, that one lacked his grace.

Scary

Graphic and violent. Addictive with hot men and wonderfully interesting characters. Sad it's all over now. Mickey was my favorite complex man. Loved every season/episode. Happy trails Mickey

Edge of your seat episode
atamez1 April 2020
One of the best episodes in the whole series, masterfully directed by Kyra Sedwick. The editing, acting, flashbacks are top notch. A lot of things from the past are finally revealed so we get to understand the conflict between Ray and Mick. Bravo!

Best episode of the 7 seasons
gqcpa28 April 2022
I was ready to give up on this series. They seemed to just run out of ideas.

This episode makes up for the predecessors. BRAVO!!!! Hope they keep up the momentum thru to the end.

Some tighter plot
dierregi20 September 2022
Much better than the previous episode, but still nothing particularly new going on. Mickey is following yet another dead end, delusionally thinking he should be "reimbursed" with his share of the heist plus interests - because the illegal underworld should work like the legal one, when it's convenient for criminals.

Actually that would be funny if it wasn't pathetic and I feel for Sullivan and his disdainful approach to Mick's requests, even if Sullivan is yet another despicable character.

Ray is not doing a shred of work in this series because too busy driving around and putting out fires. Shame because there's just much too much about the family and not enough about the business.
