Film distributor Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired the documentary “The Mandela Effect Phenomenon” from writer-director Robert Kiviat. Uncork’d plans a July 9 digital release.
The Mandela Effect refers to the psychological phenomenon of a group of people misremembering well-documented facts or events. Some take this a step further and assume their confusion stems from the truths of other realities entering their own. The phrase “Mandela Effect” was coined by paranormal researcher Fiona Broome, who in 2009, thought former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela had died in prison when he had been released in 1990.
“The Mandela Effect Phenomenon” zeros in on those who believe the sensation stems from supernatural intervention. According to the official logline, the documentary claims “something mind-blowing is happening where half the world’s population swear reality’s been altered, like they come from another timeline. Millions claim movies are different, and TV show titles, celebrities’ names, logos and brands,...

No Good Deed saw Elba playing a villain in the 2014 thriller. Henson’s character attempts to help Elba in a bind, but her generosity backfires, and Elba ends up threatening her life.
Henson was on a mission to cast Elba in the film from the very beginning, especially since she hadn’t worked with him before.

Nelson Mandela, the iconic anti-apartheid leader who went from 27 years as a political prisoner to eventually becoming the first president of a free South Africa, will be the subject of the 30-hour scripted TV series “Mandela.” The project is currently the works at writer/producer Josh Wakely’s Grace: A Storytelling Company shingle.
Wakely has secured the TV series life rights to the late Mandela via House of Mandela Entertainment, the media arm of the Mandela estate. Wakely will executive produce and write “Mandela,” along with South African writer/director Kagiso Lediga (“Queen Sono”) and producer Kweku Mandela (who is also Nelson Mandela’s grandson).
The project, which Wakely compares to a multi-season saga in the vein of Netflix’s “The Crown,” will center on Mandela’s life as he was sent to prison while aiming to end apartheid, the system of institutional racism and segregation that was administered in South Africa for generations.

Introduction
The Mandela Effect gets its name from the misremembering of the death of the former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. A Healthline article describes the occurrence of people remembering Mandela dying in the 1980s when he actually died in 2013. The occurrence of this is broken down to collective false memories and confabulation. An event occurs and is misinterpreted by a number of people, then is cemented as fact in their minds.

The trailer for the socio-political satire ‘Martin Luther King’, starring Telugu actor Sampoornesh Babu, comes through as a witty and engaging movie that deals with serious contemporary themes in a comical tone with an underlying message. Based on a man who is downtrodden by birth and doesn’t even know his own name, when he goes to vote in the local village elections, the voting official (a woman) tells him that if he isn’t smart then he should call himself Martin Luther King so as to give away his importance.
While the protagonist figures out the village politics, there is a lot of commentary that is being made on the way politicians work even at the local levels to curry favours, so as to gather votes from the community.
There appears to be a divide on the basis of communities in the North and South of the village and to curry favour,...

Marvel once recruited actor Idris Elba to portray the Asgardian Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a character Elba felt great pride in playing, especially since he believed the character’s role could’ve been expanded on in the superhero franchise.

Elba has portrayed a couple of super-powered characters during his time in the spotlight. The actor initially found himself in his first superhero movie with Thor, where he played the Asgardian gatekeeper Heimdall. He was aware that his character only had a small role in the feature. But Elba took the part anyway because he was eager to work with director Kenneth Branagh, who shot the first Thor.
“This is a man that’s an amazing actor. Just hearing him giving his take on how to mold me as an actor.

No, neither your eyes nor your memory have deceived you. This isn't a case of the Mandela Effect waving over moviegoers on a global scale, either. If anyone's feeling like there's a slight amount of gaslighting going on regarding different versions of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" -- even as the highly-anticipated sequel ended its theatrical run and was made available on digital -- it turns out there's an explanation for that. Whether it's a good explanation or not, well, we'll leave that up to you.
/Film previously covered the head-scratching phenomenon of different versions of "Across the Spider-Verse" hitting theaters worldwide, as confused viewers took to social media to post their recollections of certain scenes and moments in the animated film playing out differently compared to others' experiences. While some chalked this up to the filmmakers directly leaning into the whole multiverse angle of it all, the real reason turned...

Haddock helped found Nbpc in 1979 in Columbus, Ohio, with a mission to support Black stories and storytellers in film and television. She spearheaded the nonprofit for more than 25 years and oversaw its transition to its eventual home in Harlem.

Apart from the pricing, packages and deals, understanding cultural differences and preferences is key to attracting new audiences. Sowmya RajendranMeenakshi Sundareshwar/Netflix IndiaA few days ago, Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, expressed his “frustration” at the company’s lack of success in the Indian market in an investor call. According to reports, Netflix added 2.6 million paying subscribers in the Asia Pacific region in the last quarter, showing good growth in Japan and India. However, the Over-the-Top platform said that it only expects to add 2.5 million subscribers in the current quarter.
