The major plot point around which this episode revolves is Monk's fear of nudity and his bigotry towards nudists. This is in stark contrast to the Mr. Monk and the Red-Headed Stranger (2002) (S1:E11), when Monk hires a streaker to prove a supposedly blind person can see. In that episode, he shows no discomfort with nudity at all.
In the opening sequence, the killer is shown taking the envelope from the murder victims hand twice from two different camera angles.
Several nudists have flesh-colored bathing suits on, for obvious reasons.
Vicky's roommate says Mr. Magneri is a heart attack waiting to happen because he has an aortic aneurysm. However, an aortic aneurysm that ruptures is something entirely different than a heart attack.
