Season 2 picks up exactly where the end of Season 1 left us

As Episode 1 ("Bill Russell's Bedsheets") of Season 2 of "City On a Hill" (2021 release; 8 episodes of about 58 min. Each) opens, Assistant DA DeCourcy Ward is meeting with a teenage black kids who was picked up by the Boston Police for using the N word to a Black cop. Meanwhile in a parallel story, FBI veteran Jackie Rohr is driving his car very fast while doing coke. Then his woman friend overdoses, and in sheer panic, he drops her off in front of the St. Eligius hospital. Turns out that woman is an Assistant US Attorney... At this point we are less than 15 min. Into Episode 1 but to tell you more of the plot would spoil your viewing experience, you'll just have to see for yourself how it all plays out.

Couple of comments: Season 1 played out in the Fall of 2019, and was an immediate critical and ratings success. Showtime ordered a second season, and thankfully everyone from Season 1 is back for Season 2. This series is executive-produced by Barry Levinson, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. More importantly, the cast is terrific, with another glorious turn by Kevin Bacon as Jackie Rohr ("hear him Rohr"), Aldis Hodge (as DeCourcy Ward), Jill Hennessy (as Jackie's wife), and many others. The script is even better, with lots of in-depth characters and intertwining story lines. The setting is still Boston in the early 90s. It blows the mind that this is 3 decades ago now. Bottom line: this is story telling at its very best.

"Season 2 of "City On a Hill" premiered a few weeks ago on Showtime. Old episodes are now available on Showtime On Demand, Amazon Instant Video, and other streaming services. New episodes air on Sunday evenings at 9 pm Eastern. If you enjoyed Season 1, you know what a treat you are in for, with an all-star cast back in the fold. If you are new to ":City On a Hill", welcome, welcome, welcome. You don't need to have seen Season 1 to enjoy the new season (although it certainly doesn't hurt of course).

The price of Hate.

Warning: Spoilers
The second season kicks off at full speed, just like the first one...All the characters are back with some new flavors...

The project stuff is to much drama for me, but I realize that's how these producers think...I wish Bacon got more screen time. I could have done without the singing wife and the screwed up kid; that stuff is boring and trite... I wish the producers would see the story is The FBI vs the City, vs the DOJ vs the BPD.... THOSE are interesting dynamics...

But, you gotta love the Bacon dialog's...Poignant and often funny...

I give everything a 10 or 1...This isn't a 1 star.
