Surprised me that for a little kids show there are no morals to the stories and the character gets away with everything. First episode that made me turn it off and block it on Netflix is where he says he hates his dinner, hides the food so he gets cake then gets to go play outside. I kept expecting the parents to find out and he'd learn a lesson but no it just ended with him happy and playing with food in his pocket. Don't need a show to teach my toddler how to misbehave.

Trotro is the most honest and respectful depiction of young people I have ever seen. My two boys love the characters and relatable situations the children get into about friendship, family and everyday life. There are no forced moral lessons or condescending "teachable moments". Rather, Trotro learns from the natural consequences of his actions himself (rather than an adult telling him wrong from right).
In only 4 minutes, the short episodes tell complete stories about the boisterous spirit and joy of little children that I actually enjoy and often find endearingly profound.

So simple and cute, when all cartoons today seem to be overstimulating. Someone says in review that the cartoon doesn't teach kids enough - I would not agree; all episodes are full of kindness and love. That should be the most important to teach our kids.
