Only gold remains
bosporan20 April 2022
Nadia tries hard to change the past, but it seems the past has a mind of its own. Her interactions with both versions of people are very well done.

Some nice touches, eg the text inundation on arrival at platform 2022 and learning the origin of her name. Solid episode, not as strong as the opener.

Coney Island Baby

Warning: Spoilers
This is so different from a lot of the stuff on Netflix which is good, but I just can't really get behind the 80's premise. I wish they tackled the same thing they dealt with in the first season.

The past is past
raymstorey7 October 2022
The past is the past, it's a different country as they say, and nothing you can do will change it.

That's the point, and that's why this episode ended the way it did .

And women sometimes smoked during pregnancy even in the early 1980's, but it was frowned upon.

You can't look at the past through a 2022 lens and expect it to be magically different, it is what it was.

Think about that next time you want to click the 1 star.

This is one of the best shows on Netflix right now.

It was hard to know how they were going to take this further with the continuing death motif, and I think they've done a great job with it.

To be frank, they've cleaned up the language and nuance a lot from what 1982 would have been.

Infuriating

Warning: Spoilers
Some spoilers ahead.

Protagonist goes to a lot of trouble to recover lost gold to only immediately lose it again. In of itself it seems a lazy trope but she actually leaves it sitting on a subway train? Really this gold with such immense value both financial and personal to the character just left lying around in a clearly unsafe location. I know the character isn't the most together but come on.

So stupid and convenient...

Warning: Spoilers
The episode was great but the ending was so incredibly stupid it was just infuriating. All that effort to get the gold coins back. And then after she gets them back, she doesn't straight bring it back. She does all kinds of other stuff and then at the very end of the episode, she proceeds to lose the gold in the most convenient and stupidest way ever. It really just ruined the episode for me...

Such a let down from season 1
MegaMaexn21 May 2022
It feels like the writers were desperately trying to come up with another time travel story, which just falls flat on its face. Ouch indeed!!! It's uninspired and mainly a cigarette/smoking commercial all the way through. Especially infuriating because it's about a pregnant woman recklessly smoking all the time and therefore damaging her own self... in summary: pointless, lacklustre and just a waste of time.

Question mark
shefchenko25 May 2022
What a pointless, too abstract, and boring episode. I have never watched something from a show that I actually love, while being to exhausted in the middle of it and wanting it to end so badly. Why was this episode made?!?

Quite entertaining, for a cigarette commercial
jennachaplinca22 April 2022
What is this? It looks more like an extended commercial for cigarette smoking than a real drama. I don't suppose the producers are taking money from tobacco companies? Actually, I'm sure of it, and I'm sure that it's not uncommon at all. Typically this is realized by the obvious ploy of setting much of the action in the past.

Also, the plot is way less interesting than that of Season 1.

The sound is so badly recorded that much of the dialogue is garbled noise. Sound engineers: remember that people who watch shows do not already know the dialogue like you do - so make it intelligible first time please.

On the whole very disappointing and not at all interesting.
