The only son of a great surgeon, Damien almost followed in his father's footsteps before becoming a lawyer. Elected to parliament, he's on the verge of a successful political career before being devastated by the loss of his daughter Charlotte. His father asks him to defend Pascal Bernel, his successor as head of the neurology unit, who's been accused of the involuntary homicide of one of his patients. As the investigation progresses, Damien is increasingly convinced that Bernel is responsible for other deaths, including perhaps that of Charlotte. Now, in a challenge to his oath as a lawyer, he must defend someone he wants more than anything to see in jail - this man who played God.
