Doesn't feel like it's about to end
Abdulxoxo24 September 2020
This episode feel more like an filler episode than an actual prenultimate episode. i think it'd fit much better in episode 10 or 9. it just doesn't have the almost-the-end feeling to it.

All in all, it's an okay episode and a bit emotional. I'm just worried about the finale now, I bet there won't be a war 'cause they keep mentioning it's Test or something. I hope the finale will be good and the characters will get what they deserved.

I've come this far so I might as well finish it
kcquail15 August 2022
This show really went down hill the last few seasons. I really enjoyed this show when it first came out. The raw survival sci fi show. It was exciting and I liked the characters, it was unique. I felt it was really the show I was looking for when it started.

Now it feels like they're reaching a bit, I don't like any of the characters anymore. I don't even like Clarke as much anymore. I didn't really enjoy this last season but figured I'd finish it to see how it ended since I've been watching from day 1. They honestly probably should've ended this show sooner.

Ok, way better than the last couple of episodes
mariapedro-2077129 September 2020
Still, it feels like one final episode won't be able to fill all the blanks there are left. (And one of the show's greatest strengths used to be the way it could connect all the dots... Like it did in "Anaconda"). Unfortunately, I believe one last episode is too short a period of time to give us all the answers we want. Let's see.. ). I still have hope for a great finale though. Fingers crossed! We all deserve it!

Jason Rothenberg is hateful to the audience...again
Franjelica25 September 2020
I can't tell if Jason Rothenberg or Kim Shumway is the biggest villain in this episode. Both exhibit a refusal to accept that audiences are weary of the standard sci-fi fare created by white men of a certain age that think being 'edgy' means mocking their viewers and any human connection they try to form with the characters. It should be a giant red flag that both the lead male and female actors have completely refused to promote this garbage all season. And it should be glaringly obvious that the show runner is vindictive, petty and unprofessional. Removing the lead actor's name from the opening credits? Really? Nice touch a**hole.

Clarke is annoying
topinevalainen1 January 2024
This entire show it's been all about Clarke. She only cares about the few people she loves and herself. When they are no longer of use to them or she sees them as a threat, they are killed as well. Now all of a suden she is this martyr that has to make the hard decisions and everyone forgives her? Lazy writing. She would kill every single living creature in the universe to be with her daughter.

It's been a struggle to watch this last season. If she changes her behaviour entirely in the last episode to sacrifice herself, it's like Hitler saving what's left of the world after burning it to the ground.

What an amazing setup for the finale!
thieuseb25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When I watched this episode I watched twice. First viewing for how of a huge fan of this series I am. Then the second viewing to inspect elements of the story telling and the technical aspects as a film student. As a fan of this series I've enjoyed every moment of this season and it kind of felt like a redemption from the last couple of seasons that seemed to lead to nowhere. However, the last couple of episodes have been making sense of where this whole this series has been leading to and it was to test Clarke's responsibility in being the final sacrifice or whatever they call it so the human kind can evolve. As a film student who loves story writing I did enjoy the call backs and full circle moments that happened in this episode. However, some of these should of happened sooner to improve the character's ark before the final episode. (Example: Clark's realization to how her mother felt about her suicide missions and then Clark proceeds to connect the dots to why Maddy is doing what she's doing. She wants to be like her mom.) Technical aspects I've enjoyed from this episode is that it seems that this episode is directing leading into the finale because of the fade out and then to be continued subtitle. The reason I'm saying this is that sometimes from episode to episode that have huge cliffhangers they start an entire different story the next episode. Therefore, hopefully they follow through with it in the finale. One continuity issue I realized in this episode though is that the characters both protagonists and antagonists forget that they can go invisible. I realized this twice when Sheidheda was "creating a distraction" as those soldiers could easily turned invisible and take him down. Then when Clarke, Octavia and Levitt go into the room to rescue Maddy, none of them think to check for guards/soldiers but I get it they want us to assume that Sheidheda have taken them all out in that area. Overall, I loved this episode both as a fan and a film student and hope to see the finale crank up to 11 to impress most viewers as some people can't get over the deaths of the main characters but that's story people.

Over it

Someone needs to tell Jason Rothenberg and Kim Shumway that shock factor does not equal good writing.

Worst penultimate episode ever
Splarke2224 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Hear me out. If this episode came earlier in the season, I think I would've liked it more. But the fact that this is the second to last episode of the entire series, makes my blood boil. The whole episode can be summarized in two sentences. Half the group digs through rubble as Emori is dying, while Clarke & Octavia sit around being useless for 40 minutes. Then Madi ends up (not quite yet, but soon) dead after Cadogan gets the code for the last war. Two sentences. An absolutely boring & downright horrendous penultimate episode for the series. It's really felt as though most of 7B has just been filler, waiting for the finale to actually initiate "the last war." I really just can't help but feel gutted that my once favorite show took such a hard nose dive so close to the finish line.

Another thing: Madi's scene at the end was very triggering for some viewers, something I didn't realize immediately upon viewing. I can absolutely see how it is and I'm so sorry to anyone affected by it. What I found appalling myself was how Eliza must've felt filming the scene. They had Eliza have to act out the death of her on screen child in a horrific way, having her call her "my baby" even. Knowing how EJ had a miscarriage, losing her unborn baby shortly before filming & then seeing THAT scene. I just can't help but think.. Jason knew. The writers knew. They knew she had gone through that and then still came up with THAT scene for her to film. Extremely, extremely disturbing.

Side note: Chuku Modu remained in the opening credits for this episode despite not making an appearance, whereas Bob Morley was immediately removed the episode after his death. I cannot WAIT until all this garbage that went on behind the scenes gets exposed once NDA's are up. Jason's treatment of Bob has looked extremely bad on the surface, but I can't imagine just how bad it actually was. Here's to hoping Jason Rothenberg never gets another gig as showrunner, as his abuse of power completely ruined what was once a phenomenal show.

Human Nature
chloeemg30 September 2020
I think the audience forgets that there really is no true protagonist in this show. Since the first season, the characters have fought for survival and through that they abandoned almost all their moral reasoning. The final season is no different. Of course, they've made decisions we, as an audience, don't agree with.

This was a strong episode that showed many of the actors haven't lost their gusto. This isn't the first time the characters have faced a life threatening situation and it's definitely not gonna be the last this season. Madi took a page out of her mother's book and sacrificed herself to save her loved ones. Strong acting from Lola this episode and it was a treat to watch her grow since the first time we saw her.

That was what i said the entire episode, meh. It was silly, doesn't feel like its the 99 episode and the pre-finale of a great show! Its disappointing what they did to a great show.

That was so intense and emotional!!

Warning: Spoilers
That episode was so good, and I was so worried for Madi and Emori, all along. Cadogan needs to go in the finale, he's not worthy to take the test!! really great perfomances from all our main crew, especially Eliza and Richard. I'm glad Levitt came back and join our gang for the final war. That last scene really killed me :( so hard to watch. One last round, i'm ready for the series finale!!

The 100 dragging to the end.
jabel-9300926 September 2020
It is far easier to kill characters off than to come up with a satisfying conclusion. I've been hanging in there with a show that was always too violent for me, but had really fascinating ethical questions come up almost every week. An intriguing world of grounders was presented, and then destroyed, which really ruined the show for me. Then we've had this final season, which started off well. I will watch the finale because I've watched the whole thing but, I really don't care how it ends.

Not The 100 I knew. Disappointed,heartbroken💔
amreenhossen24 September 2020
In a final season, one final journey there was so much to wrap things out. Most important characters, to have final solidarity even in death but then what happened? Yes! This show never meant to be happy ending stuff which was also a good thing about the show. It was all about surviving and not knowing what enemy they will face next but among everything, fighters will fight, leaders will lead the spirit to survive. And Leaders means Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake. Yes if anyone says to me Bellamy wasn't a leader I will punch their face so hard they will see stars in their eyes🙄 Bellamy Blake was the first one to being a rebel, he was the one who inspired people to stick together though at first it had a stupid reason but then he took everyone, taught them to how to fight, gave pep talk whenever or whoever needed that, most of all to Clarke. She might be the first one to recognized him as not a murderer but her doubtful decisions always came into light because she had Bellamy by her side. In this season when it was meant to be one last fight the war and they gave us some backstories, some delusional theories about all mankind sake, a stupid Sheidheda story, divided the cast members to different planets, in different time slots, struggling their way back to each other and bla bla bla but gosh!! Where is our the 100 team? That team who always finds ways to survive by planning, plotting, and solving puzzles together? Not just Bellamy and Clarke, I mean everyone doing their part, with agreements, disagreement, even doubting each other but still sticking around for friends because they were the 100's team. They were friends. They were family. All I saw in this season broken characters, every character I knew acted differently than other reasons. Story holes were big so big that they threw Bellamy to into it. Clarke our head who always acted rationally acted emotionally damaged one and killed her best friend. Octavia who for 10 years every day tried to escape the Skyrim just to meet her brother and tell him that she finally understands goes in vein when she said to Clarke that "SHE UNDERSTAND" Echo who was so mad for Bellamy being dead and tried to kill everyone in Bardo also understand Clarke. Little Madi who bore the burden of Bellamy's death on her sakes and Gabriel's death too made her take the drastic step to willingly to Bardo to die only. So, Bellamy died for nothing? No one believed him maybe he was delusional but if they forgave Octavia being bloodrina then why not Bellamy being delusional? They didn't mourn for him. They simply ignored the fact who Bellamy actually was before that. Didn't even give him farewell. Emori being tortured, Murphy being hurt too much darkness in it. My favourite show just got ruined.

A mess
cruise0125 September 2020
1 out of 5 stars.

Not sure how far off the show is from being close to the source material or if the showrunner is coming up with the story as they go along. The story has been disappointing and a mess with the characters. Boring and feels rushed with the characters.

Most of the bad ratings are before the episode even came out.
rfhpcwebi24 September 2020
This episode exceeded everyone's expectations. It was build with perfection. It made sense, it was emotional, it was intense, it was entertaining, and it had a nice little throwback to season 1. It also left so many questions for what can happen in the finale. Great episode. 10/10

One of the best of the season
williamscharzenbergermoran25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Simply put, while still suffering from the show's rather severe case of season 7 syndrome, this episode has enough heartbreak without the same pointless deaths that we've seen earlier this season with Diyoza, and Bellamy (although his death had a point, just not a very good one). It contains enough fast moving plot points to be far more compelling than most of this scattershot season, and while it overall doesn't feel like a penultimate episode, the last moments of this episode gives me hope that we are in store for a killer series finale

Disturbing, Disgusting, Sick.
jpk-2627724 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I imagine the writers thinking how bad and senseless they could make this finale episodes, because thats what they gave us. HOW CAN YOU LEAVE MADI LIKE THIS?? It's horrible. THEY RUINED EVERYTHING I LOVED ABOUT THIS SHOW. EVERY CHARACTER. Its gone. I want this so badly to end right now. WATCHING THESE FINAL EPISODES IS UNBEARABLE. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The show is dying not the light !
Mr_MickyKnox25 September 2020
This show has turned into a borefest. What used to be essential viewing is now a shadow of its former self. A slight improvement over the previous two episodes , but it's still not good to see one of my favourite shows spiral into such below par viewing .

I Hate the screenwriters who try to ruin this series in her last season
bitnicat-7230924 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Did I mention that i hate the screenwriters who try to ruin this series in her last season with an annoying and disappointing script? First they killed Lexa for no good reason, Then they killed Bellamy, Again for no reason, And now this? I ask myself, Has this series, Just like GOT before her, Which was destroyed with a bad script by her screenwriters in her last season, Become a series for masochists who enjoy suffering from watching her? Because that's what I at least felt when I watched the last few episodes of this series.

It's more like an entrance to the final season (or episodes)...
slobav1527 September 2020
For me this season and this final episodes can only be an entrance to the final season. I mean, show need one more season to fill every hole, every plot and every character. Or at least need 5 to 10 more episodes. It's not bad, but it's rushing to the end. But generally one of the best series I watched... 👍🏻👌🏻

MAY WE MEET AGAIN!
