# 08 - ***200TH review *** : A special content for a symbolic benchmark! (dvd)
lamegabyte10 August 2017
(originally posted on my SFW account...)

After each hundred of movie, I try to add something particular. For my 100th, I posted a rejected review about a movie still in production (Indy IV) just to explain my expectations. For this 200th, I choose to review a porn movie.

Why?

First, porn movies are an act of liberty and I am strongly supportive of any fundamental freedom. When censorship and totalitarian arise, sex freedom is always the first victim!

Second, sex is a part of life; art is life; thus porn movies can be artful! As French humorists said, wardrobe is essential to film- making, because without it, you have a porn movie! Honestly, sometimes I prefer the clear message of an "ostracized" porn movie than the content of some pseudo intellectual movies (see "Je Pense A Vous", "5x2") in which sex or nudity is hypocritically directed for the "sake of art"!

As there are A, B even Z movies, you can find glamour, cheap or "putrid" porn movies. My personal taste goes exclusively to the A movies, those released by successful producers (Dorcel, Vivid, Digital Playgound) because I believe the cast is taken care and not treated like mere cattle!

Like any genres (biopic, musical, detective, war, super heroes), there are some key elements in porn movie that any director can play as tools! But frankly, I just can't stand close-ups (I'am not gynecologist) and cuts (from full clothed to birth suits in a second!). In addition, making love with shoes is rather ridiculous!

Third, from my own point of view, I wanted to show sincerity and make a point: Single, never married without children, I would like to say that by watching porn movies, I am not so naive in the art of sexuality. It's a great help for my own pleasure, those of my future partner and a healthy way to fulfill fantasies! For me, porn cast aren't sexual freaks and their audience aren't depraved people!

So, my first choice goes to "Island Fever 4".

First of all, it stars one of my favorite models, Jana Cova. Maybe the "halo effect" is very strong but it's hard to tell because it mainly unconscious. I just know that Jana is a sweet, calm, beautiful woman!

Next, the locations are really beautiful: sea, jungle and beaches of Bora-Bora (which I just learn that it's French territory!)! For us, civilized people with buildings, cars, paved streets, it's a sort of come-back to paradisaical primitive time!

About the main thing, what can I say? Sure, the "couplings" are always on slow motion, without any sounds or dialogues, but with different contrasts and strong editing. So it isn't very natural or exciting! But, it's kind of dreamy! The bonus are rather interesting, it's like you take a week of vacations with sweet, funny, down-to-earth people!

Once more to the well...

Certainly a big deal back when, this MOS (shot silent) all-sex porn series from Digital Playground seems dreary and repetitive a decade or so later.

With Tera Patrick the initial superstar draw, we get to see XXX porn a la those Sports Illustrated Swimsuit documentaries -the girls posing in the surf of some exotic location. This time it's Jesse Jane in the spotlight, though the same old scenes repeated over the course of 2 DVDs is annoying. In her case, she humps Scott Nails three times...borrring.

I liked best here Kinzie Kenner, who like Marie Luv seems to have been merely added randomly as support for the main quartet of Jesse, Sophia Santi, Teagan Presley and the lovely Jana Cova.

On a third pointless DVD in the set (similar to the marketing tactics of DP for its hit "Pirates" pair of blockbusters) we have a fun amateur comedy short by Evan Stone, "Doome Island", which he shot on location with something of a parody of tv's "Lost" in mind.
