Solid way to kick off a monumental season
yeagerlsta7 December 2020
This season is gonna be talked about for decades to come, it's going to be a hallmark in the medium of anime, and this 1st episode nothing but confirms it, borderline perfection. Amazing episode and the best is yet to come.

I had no idea what was happening, but it was awesome nonetheless !

Warning: Spoilers
MAPPA didn't disappoint ! SnK is back and it's more incredible than ever. The VA's , the art and especially the music were superb!

The episode had none of the main characters and seemed like a totally different anime yet it kept you on the edge of the seat and was still very meta . Slowly yet surely escalating towards the explosive ending . I can't wait for more!

Excellent Beginning
TheHDEYGuy7 December 2020
Amazing first episode to a season. I enjoyed how it was able to incorporate the main story with an epic battle all in one fight to set up the rest of the show. Can't wait to see what's next and I realllyyy hope it lives up to its hype. So far, its on its course

A Perfect Introduction to the Marley Arc
BadgerStorm43457 December 2020
Attack on Titan is back, delivering its final 2 Arcs in its Fourth Season. The Marley Arc has now started off with the introduction of many new and great characters as well as an intense battle filled with gorgeous animation and an insane soundtrack. This was a Perfect way to bring back the series as it has as much mystery as it does action.

The Animations Were Awesome

A Lot Of People Are Complaining That The CGI Used For Titans Look Cheap. Come On Y'all It's Just The First Episode. You People Just Need A Reason To Complain. The Episode Was Adapted Really Faithfully. You Can't Judge By Just The First Episode.

Mappa, you done good
rjaecks-922547 December 2020
I was worried about the studio change but now I'm not. The first episode is essentially almost perfect, I'd rate it like a 9.8 out of 10 if I could but I can't so I'm putting 10/10. My only ONLY slight gripe was the cg on the beast titan and the cart titan. The armored titan's cg actually looked really good, as well as the jaw titan's. The rest of the animation was absolutely stunning and completely faithful to the manga which I appreciate immeasurably. I would say though that by no means was the cg bad, in fact it's probably the best cg I've ever seen in anime, it's just that it's still cg and the new beast titan looks good but not AS good as in previous seasons (and the cart titan looked better in the trailer). But it's really so small of a gripe that maybe I shouldn't have even mentioned it because after my second viewing of the episode I was completely used to it and just went "this looks really freaking good all around." Anyway, great start to the final season!!! Enjoy everyone! :D

Promising start of the end
bsamad-500887 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I gotta admit that because of the animation that is different from the first 3 seasons , characters looked bit different and it was weird specially the armor titan but the animation is perfect though , just need sometimes and so my eyes get used to their new appearance , for the episode, i think this is the best way to start last season and this ep gives us more reasons why marlies are desperate to get the power of the founding titan that eren posses , i am sure we are going to witness a great war this season Ps : that scene when they throw people from the sky and zek turned them into titans was top notch 👏🏼👏🏼

Amazing start
yannickbromme7 December 2020
If the animation of the beast, armored and jaws titan would be a little better, it would definitely be a 10/10

Edit: After rewatching the Episode a couple of times, I don't even mind the cgi anymore! 10/10

The CG and more
abdullahvip-092257 December 2020
As a manga reader i honestly expected much less considering covid and the studio change, but the adaptation most definitely is living up to its expectations and more! The soundtrack, The animation with the details and everything, The cg especially ive never seen it get adapted this well in anime and i actually LOVE it and don't mind it one bit. Especially with what's to come late in the series CG is necessary so we might as well get used to it. An amazing start to the season NO DOUBT. I love you Mappa.

Here's an honest and a good review for those who came to read
naveenmanik7 December 2020
After the episode , AOT somehow feels a little different in a depressive way. It's like the war based theme combined with the opening make it feel less like an anime and more like a real life tv show. I usually don't like action packed premieres but this one is something different. The Cgi will take some time to get used to but it's definitely not bad. The new characterd feels interesting. The atmosphere of the show is totally different along with the music. So those of you saying it's a bad episode, it's not. It's just different

Wait, What?
dwankan11 March 2022
Having watched and greatly enjoyed the first three seasons of AOT, I came to this season expecting more of the same. Unfortunately, this season is a convoluted, completely new story that only marginally connects to the previous ones. The first episode begins in the middle of a war between, well who knows? The rapid fire dialog tries to cram pages worth of explanation of previously untouched backstory, so it's near impossible to follow. Maybe if I had patience I would watch several episodes I didn't understand to finally put it all together, but this is just lazy writing. I'm not obsessed with AOT enough to slog through the confusing middle of a story I haven't been told yet/

Very Good WW1 Simulator
Metalmerge7 December 2020
This is a very good reenactment of WW1 trench warfare. All of the historical details were correct. I didn't see anything historically inaccurate.

Phenomenal start.
TheFirst015 May 2021
After two tranquil episodes in the final two episodes of the third season, here comes an explosive season opener that is sure to wow people who've watched this show since the beginning. New characters are great and previously seen characters make this an episode that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

We're in good hands
idan1b8 December 2020
After hearing Wit Studio wasn't going to animate the last season of my favorite anime of all time, I was disappointed, scared, and highly skeptical. MAPPA is a renowned studio (and for a good reason), but up until now, Attack on Titan had that atmosphere that I thought no one else could truly replicate. Watching God of Highschool and Jujutsu Kaisen by MAPPA made me more optimistic over the year, but still skeptical. Now that episode 1 is out, I can safely say - this is it, this is how you change studios without losing any of your fans. It was mind-blowing. The animation was top-tier, and the music was phenomenal (as always). Approaching the end of this bitter year, thank you studio MAPPA, Isayama, Hiroyuki Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, and the voice acting team, for this beam of shining light.

It looks absolutely amazing!
auloni-2257410 December 2020
When I first heard that season 4 was not going to be made by WIT Studio I was honestly worried. But after checking out MAPPA I have no doubts they will give us an amazing show. Being a manga reader myself I know just how awesome and absolutely crazy this season will be, so I am really looking forward to the future episodes.

People are complaining about the animation but honestly, it was awesome. It felt way more fluid than before. WIT used way too many still shots which I wasn't really a fan of.

The CG Titans were also pretty well done and blended quite nicely with the surroundings.

Ignore the nitpicks haters will point out, watch it and enjoy it just as much as I did!

Fantastic First Episode
veryprado7 December 2020
This blew my expectations out of the water. I was cautiously optimistic about this season and I clicked the episode expecting to be just satisfied. I left leaping my bed in joy and pure happiness. Mappa is doing a fantastic job and I'm looking forward to the next few episodes. The animation is beautiful and so was the music as well. Don't get me started on the pacing as well. The tone was set perfectly and it felt as if I was watching a movie, very cinematic. Loved the character introductions as well. Overall, great episode.
