- Le Boast explores the idea that, for a man, an erotic experience has to be enjoyed twice; once when he actually has the experience and again when he can boast about it to his friends.
Sebastian is a British man enjoying a pleasant and sexually fulfilling life with his girlfriend (a maths teacher) in Paris. To improve his French he regularly meets two young Frenchmen to exchange conversational French and English but these meetings have simply deteriorated into a forum for the two Frenchmen to boast about their amorous adventures as single young men in Paris.
Much to Sebastians agony he is not allowed to share his own erotic secrets as his respectable girlfriend has one hard rule in their relationship: He must never talk about their sex life which must remain strictly private.
When Sebastian experiences the ultimate sexual fantasy the frustration of not being allowed to boast becomes too much, and he breaks the rule. The consequences are pain, humiliation, heartbreak, violence and the loss of everything that he lived for.
With a final twist that will leave audiences pondering the film long after it has finished Le Boast is an exercise in efficient story telling, designed to take an audience on a miniature journey into the sexual psyche of men, while aiming for three or four big laughs along the way.
