Kissy's future looks very uncertain after the passing of her grandmother. The high spirited girl is determined to stay in the village.
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure after the first episode, now I feel that it's settled, and I'm intrigued by the story. I really want to learn what happens to young Kissy.
It's as much an exploration of human behaviour than anything else, people often come good when things are desperate, people always struggle to understand someone that's different.
I thought John Welsh was utterly charming as Admiral Twiss, in keen to learn as much about his character as I am about Kissy's. Why is he so keen to help the travellers and Kissy in particular, and why the aversion to women? I hope they explain.
I am enjoying Angela Browne's Mrs Cuthbert, she really is a nasty piece of work.
8/10.
