Beautiful Start

Being a huge Stephen Amell fan and an even bigger wrestling fan, I was extremely excited for this. And it lived up to my hype.

Although it is a wrestling show it is much more than that.

The first episode laid the foundations for the rest of the episodes. The cast work well together.

The set, the characters, the story, and the costumes all are amazing.

It might be too soon to say I am in love with the show, but I can say that I cant wait for the next episode.

Wrestling the way it was and the way is should be big props to Stephan And the rest of the crew for this amazing episode !!

I LOVED the arena of DWL and the character work the episode flowed perfectly. The Direction was Fantastic I specially loved the Opening Scene before the credits and the wrestling montage !! Big props for the costume and set designers too there was some amazing set decoration and costumes.

One minor comment that doesn't change how much I enjoyed this episode is that I wish they referred to the booking sheet as wrestling format instead of wrestling script.

Straight to the heart and ego

Episode 1: The pilot is well done with nice storyline plots, good acting, sporty setting and atmosphere.

It shows well the rivalry between the two brothers, their friends, foes and families. It's a little slow, but that is because of semi adequate development and in order to boil down the next episodes to the right temperature.

It lacks suspense, is semi good on the vibe and flow and possess definite talent to engorge viewers with drama and wrestling as it's meant to.

I would have liked it to be more brutal, more focused on the sport that's wrestling with less drama and a little more development all set in a bigger town.

Perfection

This first episode is perfect to start. The choice of actors is so right. I'm no fan of mr Ludwig. He is not bad. But not my actor. Here he shines as Stephen Amell more cocky brother while the face in the ring. Amell is the heel and wrote the scripts. He basically do everything in the wrestling business in and out of the ring.

Can't wait for episode 2 but I'm sold. This is 11/10.

Outstanding!!

I haven't watched "Wresting" in almost 15 years. I also am not fan of new shows. When people talk about those pretentious new Netflix shows, I usually turn the other cheek.

STARZ has been over-hyping the hell out of it, so I gave it a shot at 5am before work. I was glued from the first minute. Perfectly paced, great acting, and the 3 main female leads are gorgeous!! (check out Alison Luff's shape). Also, Mary McCormack is no spring chicken and she is still rocking that voluptuous body and her acting is on point.

This pilot laid the groundwork for the season and I cannot wait for the 2nd episode!! I highly recommend this to non wrestling fans as much and maybe more to hardcore nerds out there! Check it out!!

10/10.

Reminds me of The Wrestler

A well paced, well written episode. Setting is brilliant. It is a fast episode but doesnt feel like they are rushing things and many vital storylines take place simultaneously and all fits in naturally except the Crystal situation where it seems a but forced, lets hope its a wrestling issue nd not of any deprived rights in an private organization agenda.

Honest opinion

Warning: Spoilers
On paper Heels is clearly a show for me. Being a fan of Stephen and Alex, and wrestling, what could I ask for more.

The first episode is good. The characters are interesting, the story they are heading towards seems interesting.

Crystal seems the most interesting character of the first episode. But it made me wonder why there are new female wrestlers already at DWL? It plays in modern time so, that's kind of strange, as they are heading towards Crystal being the first female wrestler in the DWL league.

Being a fan of Stephen and Alex, I can say that Jack, played by Stephen, has a lot in common with Oliver Queen of the first seasons of Arrow, and Ace, played by Alex, is a bit different from Bjorn.

Tha acting is ok, Alex does a way better job than Stephen. Stephen's southern accent is sometimes on and sometimes off, which is kind of weird and confusing. I do not know if it has to do with the writing or the acting, but Jack for being a Heel, is definitely not heel enough and Ace who should be the Face is too much acting as a Heel, which is always kind of confusing. It is good that the immediately say who is the Heel and who is the Face between both, otherwise one would think the opposite. This made me wonder as well are there other Heels or Faces on DWL? Because that's not clear from the first episode who is who...

I think the show, at least the first episode, is probably more interesting for people that know not much or nothing about wrestling, because as a wrestling fan you know the stories/terms linked to wrestling and probably you will not be surprised by the end. It was the option I was thinking about.

Objectively it does not deserve more than a 6 or a 7. All the 10 are probably people that are really supportive of the actors or were just happy to some naked skin.

S1.E1 - Great Way to Start the Season [9/10]

(S1. E1) My Live Reaction / Review for Heels Season 1 Episode 1 ''Kayfabe''. The reason I decided to watch this show is because Stephen Amell is in it. I really hope it's good. The episode is one hour long? That's awesome. Chris Bauer is part of the show? I loved him in true blood, glad to see him. Jack seems to be the more responsible brother. Ace seems to be a hothead. It's very fun watching these two fighting. It feels like all they do is fighting, they never agree on anything. I agree with Jack, I believe that Ace cant see the bigger picture. The match between Ace and Jack was a disaster. Overall this episode was really good. Great Start. My rating is 9/10.

Ace is not believable

Warning: Spoilers
He wants the belt so he can jump ship?

Rule 1: you drop the belt before you leave the territory.

The worst wrestling brat would not hurt his family's promotion on the way out. Name just one who did?

Jack is believable. Felt good to watch him bury his brother.

I hope the writing gets more believable. Now back to the fake 10 reviews...
